Chapter One- Autumn's POV

1138 Words
After waiting three years, today was finally the day. I have officially decided to go to the Opal Moon Mating Gala. The Opal Moon Mating Gala was a Gala my family held once a year to help werewolves find their true mates. Typically women go when they turn 18 but I had decided long ago to wait until I got my powers under control. You see, being the first born in the Royal family I was the most powerful she-wolf known, with many gifts. One among others being no Alpha can command me, not even my father, the king, and if I used my dominant tone others bowed in submission. Even Alphas had to submit.       Since I am the first born Royal I also decided to go to the gala under the false identity Autumn Ross instead of Autumn Moon. I didn't want people knowing who I was and if I found my mate I wanted to wait until he was ready to know that he would be the Prince of werewolves.  "Autumn, are you ready to go?" my father yelled from downstairs. "Yes, father. All of my things are by the door waiting to go." I responded bouncing down the stairs My father smiled at my enthusiasm "Remember Autumn, the Gala is five days long and there are only two rules. 1. If you find your mate you are not allowed to mate, mark or leave with your mate until the five days are up. 2. This is a masked costume Gala, you must wear your mask at all times."  "I know father.” I sighed “I have to go now or I'll be late." I said pulling him into a hug  before running towards the door.  "Autumn wait." my mother shouted, running to me as she pulled me into a tight hug. "I am so proud of you darling." she whispered in my ear. I squeezed her tight "Thanks mom, I have to go now. I love y'all." I shouted.     As I ran out the door I grabbed all my costumes and clothes for the five days I'd be away. Once I was at the limo, I laid my costumes down on one of the seats and flung the rest in the trunk. Finally settling into the back seat, anticipating the Gala and the possibility of meeting my mate.    On the way to the gala I couldn't help but imagine my mate. Would he be nice? handsome? Would he love me or reject me? I shuddered at the last thought. The pain of a mate's rejection was unlike any other pain a wolf could imagine. “Calm down dear, he will love us” my wolf Amara comforted me. “how can you be so sure?” I asked her wearily.  “Because my dear Autumn, we are a very powerful pair, a beautiful pair. You have yet to discover all your abilities. You're only 21. All will be revealed in time dear”  I knew my wolf was right but the fear of rejection still lingered in the back of my mind.       I watched as the scenery flew by me, watching as trees and other cars passed us one after another, but what had seemed all too soon I snapped my head ahead around as the lights of the five star hotel where the gala was being held appeared ahead of us. It was magnificent. I excitedly grabbed my things and ran in the door, not waiting for the doorman to help. I stopped as I got to the receptionist. I sniffed the air, she was a wolf, an omega by the scent.  "Name please" she said looking up to my eyes. I saw her body go rigid and she bowed  her head in submission as she felt the power I radiated, unintentionally I might add. I saw her swallow hard several times, never looking directly into my eyes. I smiled as softly as I could. "Hello, I am Autumn Ross''    The Omega nodded as she looked away and back to her computer, her eyes widened as she saw whatever was on the computer screen, giving me a key she said  "You Miss.Ross will be in penthouse suite 1. You will not be sharing a room like the other ladies'' I took the key and thanked her. I called the doorman over and told him my room number and asked him to take my bags. He happily obliged.    As I walked into my room I was stunned, everything was white with gold trim. Among the four rooms the living area was furnished with a white satin couch with a matching love seat; they were antique looking furniture having mahogany accents on the arms and legs. Between the furniture lay a white shag rug with a glass coffee table that was also accented with mahogany in the legs and frame. The 60 inch television was mounted to the wall above a beautiful quartz fireplace with a mantle that matched the mahogany of the furniture.     The fully functional kitchen was outfitted with stainless steel appliances. The counter tops were polished white marble that matched the back splash on the walls.  The kitchen cabinets were the same mahogany that was used in the living room perfectly bringing the two rooms together. There was an island in the center of the kitchen that held the sink and dishwasher. There was an ornately carved wine rack that had been generously stocked with a variety of vintages.     As I entered the bedroom I was blown away, a beautiful queen size canopy bed sat in the center of the room. It was decorated with cream and royal blue bedding that called my name. I walked to the double doors that led to the bathroom. As I stepped in, breath once again failed to enter my lungs. There was a double vanity that had raised marble sinks, not far from there sat a beautiful clawfoot tub with golden feet. On the other side of the room was a large shower with frosted glass doors. A large waterfall shower head was on the ceiling. The last but most certainly not least was the jetted tub. It sat snugly in the corner of the room, it was large enough to fit two people.    My smile reached my ears as I thought of the possibilities. A girl could paper herself well with a bathroom like this. Excitedly I ran to the jetted tub and filled it as far as I could before I stripped down and eased myself in turning the jets on the moment my body was submerged. This was going to be five days of bliss as long as I could come back and sit here like this daily. I was perfectly content here like this and I didn't want it to end.
