When they said off grid, they weren't kidding. There wasn't even a house. The council gave them four season tents and survival gear like it was a survival challenge TV show.

Thankfully, it was a decent day. They were dropped off at a cold beach. thankfully, vampires can survive any climate. David loved Alone, but he didn't want to be on Alone.

first things first putting up tents. That was interesting. David has been camping in a pop-up tent, not one with a chimney. After they got they little stoves in, it was time to gather wood and then find water. Luckily, they were close to a stream. They could hear all kinds of animals with hearing.

David wished they could share a tent but didn't want to push his luck. He hopes Matilda would warm up to him. Jameson has hinted that she likes him back but might take her awhile to accept it.

David decided to set up a fishing net. He liked to fish. He would go with his cousin in the spring on his days off.

The salt air was nice. He wondered if he could collect salt. He started looking around for salt deposits in pools of water. he actually found some. They could cure meat and season food.

Matilda didn't know what to do she came from a wealthy family. She didn't even know how to start a fire. She was glad David seemed to know what he was doing.

Astra had been hunting and brought back a bear. One of her favorite things in the world. She has hunted in Alaska before. Shocking to Matilida, who was still trying to get a fire going. Astra got it going took a minute because she had to get dry tender.then she cleaned the bear. She was surprised and thrilled when David brought back salt.

David was excited to see the bear and asked Astra to show him how to clean it. Astra was happy he wanted to learn. Matilda was in one of her grumpy moods.

David took to the off grid life easily. Astra started taking him hunting. They got several rabbits and a few bears and cured a ton of meat. it was exciting. Matilda learned to cook and cure the meat and learned what berries were edible and wild herbs to collect.

Astra and David fell in love with their new life. Matilda was getting jealous of the two. they hunted together every day. They wanted enough meat to cure before winter. Matilda wanted David to be hers she just didn't how to make a move.
