The Talk

"He is still asleep," Clementine said, seeing her elder walk in. "Fledglings usually take a long rest," Matilda replied, grabbing a donut and coffee. Matilda called Lu-ah and told her about the witch/vamp problem and called an emergency meeting of her top clan members. David woke up in a strange bed confused, and then he started to remember. He couldn't believe it he was turned into a vampire. Martilida heard the faintest mown and knew David had just woke up. It was a quarter past three. Clementine had filled the kitchen with pastries. The kitchen looked like a bakery. Matilda just shook her head, going to the small bedroom she used for fresh fledglings. She took up a plate of sandwiches made with homemade bread. David looked up as Matilda opened the door. David really saw her first notice how pretty she looked. she looked in her thirties, slender figure, tall for a woman, maybe six foot one, lovely brown hair falling in natural ringlets, her eyes a pale blue, her skin was a nice pale color that goths would kill for, her bright yellow sundress standing out against her pale skin. He was speechless. He had never seen a woman so beautiful in his life. "How are you feeling?" Matilda placed the plate by the bed and asked. "Hungry, thirsty," he choked out. "Clementine is finishing the sweet tea," she should be up in a minute. " I thought vampires only drank blood," David stated with a slight headache. "There are many misinformation out there," Matilda answered," Some vampires don't even drink blood unless they been injured, speeds up the healing process." Clementine handed David a glass of sweet tea. "Please eat," she said, hopping back downstairs. "After you eat, come downstairs, and we can talk," Matilda stated as she seemed to float out the door. Clementine had left to check her flower shop and to tend her cats. Matilda sat in her recliner, reading messages on her tablet. Some of her coven has seen the two Witch Bloods. They have been hanging around places where witches might go. Garden centers, pagan stores in Tulsa, one member that works at Earthbound, said there have been others walking around the mall. They wear sunglasses now, even at night. Matilda informed her twin, knowing the council would send a larger team into her territory. David came down still shaken up by his recent ordeal. Dressed in white slacks and dress shirts. Clementine had left clothes out for him. "Please sit, and I will explain as much as I think you can handle," Matilda said. I'm a born vampire of an ancient family. We existed before ancient Egypt. it's said vampires originated in the lost city of Atlantis, which we believe as an island as big as Australia. Vampires do not survive on blood alone. We eat, drink, and dine like humans. Three hundred years ago, I created a small coven of fledglings that was turned and abandoned by their makers. My coven now has two hundred clan members. A collection of turned and born vampires that likes peace in their lives. We can be killed by normal means if they can catch us. We have super speed, hearing, and eyesight. How good it is depends on how much blood you maker put in your veins. We have our own laws to follow. The biggest is never turn a witch ever, punishable by death. Always get permission to turn a human from the elder. That would be me. If you wish to kill a human, you must have permission. I allow this coven to eliminate the most evil humans. Most of my clan can see evil in humans. No causing local or global panic. So, no feeding frenzies. We have treaties with all magical beings. We will talk about that later. Most of my clan lives outside the cities in the small towns or out in the boondocks. Lu-ah lives outside of town and is my second in command she can be found in her greenhouse field. she grows different plants all year. Her girlfriend is a witch and member of this coven. The sun won't kill us but might cause discomfort when it's too bright. My skin is pale because I haven't got enough sun to darken. Most vampires hold normal jobs. I own a bank chain. Clementine owns a flower shop. There's teachers, nurses, law officials, and even Nasa. Vampires can live hundreds of years, but we're not immortal. Everyone dies eventually. We don't scare animals. that's a myth. The local veterinarian is a vampire half tiger shifter. We have our goals and dreams. The future is not yet written. David listened, taking it all in. a world inside the world. he wondered if magical animals existed someplace as well. "Any questions?" Matilda asked. "Are unicorns real?" he asked, feeling immediately embarrassed. "Yes, but not in this realm," she continued," most magical creatures left for a new realm do to human nature. they live in a world untouched by most humans. some spell casters can travel to their realm to collect rare ingredients." "Can I live my old life," David asked. "Yes, after a couple of days, we need to make sure you're not going to go on a feeding frenzy." she answered. David just sat there trying to take it all in. His life would never be the same. He wanted more excitement in his life. Careful what you wish for. Matilda had James take David to get his car and clothes. She allowed him to move out of the small room to one of the guest rooms. As she waited for their return, she browsed online for anything unusual in her area. There was nothing that could be related to vampires, but she still had a very bad feeling, plus she was trying not to think about David too much. She would not fall in love again, not after last time. Three hundred and seventy years ago, she was engaged to a man she loved deeply. He was human, or so she thought. She was young and not as experienced. The human turned out to be a warlock using her to get more power. She stopped trusting anyone interested in her and swore never to fall in love again. David was a new fledgling so innocent to the true world. She knew she couldn't hide him from it all. he would have to get used to it all and fast. David was having trouble deciding what to pack. he dressed as both male and female and did drag to pay for online classes. he wanted to be a fashion designer. Deciding that being the living dead wasn't going to stop him from being fabulous packed his favorite outfits and his makeup kit. James waited patiently for David. He knew David from the used book store. James may look like a tough guy, but he was well educated and likes to read nonstop. He was probably the most upset that the bookstore was closed for two weeks for restocking. A local organization bought out the bookstore to start a library out in Haysville, a very small town that was the closest to many people who lived in the boondocks. David was always so nice and pleasant, flirted with little old ladies, and gave free suckers to children. He would get so excited when Maria brought Marco a little poodle shitzu mix. James was not sure how he would adjust to his new life. David finally came out of his bedroom. He had applied eyeliner and mascara. and had a suitcase and duffle packed. The elder looked up when they came back. Smelling Dior. David put his things away in his room for the time being. He opened his laptop to do his online classes. The emergency coven meeting would start after sundown. meeting
