“I got us a room.” Amon said as soon as I shut the door behind me.
“Thanks.” I said, looking at Amon taking in every little detail. The way his canines showed when he smiled and looked at me, the way his hair looked in the wind, the way his wings seemed to shine in the light even though they were as black as night. As I looked at him longer I noticed more and more things about him. I wanted to run away. I wanted to not give him his power. I wanted to break my promise. I wanted to be selfish and make him live. But I couldn’t. I couldn’t be selfish this time. I had to let him save his people. I had to let him prove himself to not just his people and his father but to prove to himself he’s still a god.
“Let’s go.” He said, walking over and picking me up again. This time I wasn’t scared because of the overwhelming sorrow that had washed over me. I was taking Amon from his father, and losing Armon because of it. I was going to be truly alone.
We flew in silence. It felt like an eternity yet it was only a few minutes. By the time we got to the inn it was probably close to midnight. The stars were bright while the moon was nowhere to be seen. It was a cold night and everything seemed so dead yet so alive.
“We’re here.” Amon said, interrupting my thoughts.
“Ok.” I said, looking around at the tall building. It looked like something from a few era’s ago. It was still as beautiful as I remembered. I smiled, it was the same building I stayed in back when I was younger. Armon made the house I stayed in as an inn. A place where people could stay if they really needed to, a place you could feel safe at. A place where I wish I could still call home.
“Have you been here before?” Amon asked, opening the door for me.
“A long time ago.” I said, walking through the door.
“How long ago?” He asked as the door closed behind us and we headed up the long spiral case stairs.
“Back before you were born and before this was an inn.” I said as Amon led me to a room on the top floor all the way down the hall and to the right and opened the door.
“So a long time then.” He said, looking down at me as I walked to the center of the room, looking around.
“Yeah, it’s been a quick minute.” I said, sitting down on the bed.
“How long will it take to get my powers back?” Amon asked, sitting on the bed next to me.
“It takes a matter of seconds.” I said, smiling sadly at Amon. I didn’t want to have to kill him but he wanted it so I had no choice plus I made a promise.
“Really? How does it work?” He asked, looking at me, smiling slightly.
“I just gotta think about you getting your powers.” I said, frowning.
“So when will you give me my powers back then?” He asked.
“In the morning. We’ll go to the Chief's house again and do it there. Then I’ll leave afterwards.” I got up and looked out the window, watching the snow slowly descend to the earth below.
“Great. Do you think you’ll ever meet someone else you’ll want to help? Maybe another man as handsome and intriguing as me?” He asked, getting up and walking over to me, stopping just behind me.
“I hope I don’t meet anyone else ever again.” I said, looking back behind me at Amon, quickly looking away feeling guilt wash over me.
“I hope you don’t meet anyone else either.” He whispered in my ear as he reached over closing the curtain so I could no longer watch the snow.
“I was watching the snow.” I said, looking at him, a slight frown on my face now.
“I wanted the curtain closed, people can see in if they just fly past. I don’t want them to see me sleeping.” He said, his arm still resting on the curtain, pinning me to the wall.
“Well if you were so worried about that maybe you should go to sleep now then.” I said, squirming under his intense gaze.
“I’ll only sleep if you come sleep with me.” He said, smirking.
“Y-you want me to sleep with you??” I said, my eyes widening and my face and ears getting red. I looked away and then back at him only to look away again.
“Well yeah, where else are you going to sleep? I won’t let you sleep on the floor.” He said smugly.
“But what if I want to sleep on the floor?” I said, still not making eye contact with him.
“Too bad.” He said. He then picked me up and I gasped in shock as he walked me to the bed and tossed me onto it. “There you go. You’re on the bed now.” He said, smiling down at me.
“This isn't fair.” I said, frowning.
“It might be though.” He said as he sat on the bed next to me.
“It’s not though.” I said, sitting up and looking at him as he took his shoes off.
“I said it is, so it is.” He said as he leaned back on the bed, adjusting the pillow. He laid on his side, looking up at me as I stared down at him.
“You’re mean. And don't look at me like that.” I said, looking away nervously.
“I know I’m mean. And I’ll look at you however I want to.” He said, smiling slightly.
“I’m gonna sleep because I don’t want to deal with you anymore.” I said, taking my shoes off and then laying down, my back facing him.
“Night sweetheart.” He said, his voice soothing. It was deep and rough and I liked it. I wish he would keep talking before I would never hear it again but if he said anymore I might run away.
“Night, Jerk.” I said, smiling softly.

It was probably a couple hours after we had been laying there when I felt Amon’s arms pull me close to him. I tensed up, unsure if he was awake or asleep. I could hear him breathing steadily, and he mumbled something slightly. He was asleep. He was holding me in his sleep. I could feel his arms tense slightly as he held me a little tighter, his arms wrapped around me like I was just a little pillow, his muscles much more noticeable than when I first met him. I wish we could stay like this forever but morning would be here soon and then I would have to take him to his dad to be the cause of his death. If only my curse never existed. If only I never existed…
