Midnight to Early Morning Monday, just after midnight Ella Sirens wailed. Her teeth and fists clenched, Ella stood staring at the fire that had engulfed the Cherokee Road safe house. Whatever cold there had been in the November night was gone, along with any lingering snow. The fire trucks and the police would be here in minutes, followed by the press. Not that the fire trucks would make any difference. This fire, started by magic, would be almost impossible to put out, even more difficult to manage than the one that had consumed the witch’s house on Three Chopt.
