Lisa’s POV ‘What was that?’ The question festered in my mind all night. And the night after. And the one after that. Yet there was no answer in sight. The next few days slipped by like warm water — steady, unremarkable, and just familiar enough that I almost convinced myself nothing had changed. Ronan went back to being Ronan. He kept to his office more, came down for meals less, and when we crossed paths, it was with that same guarded civility we always danced around. He was sharp, composed, barely giving anything away beneath the usual clipped sarcasm and perfect posture. One wouldn’t guess anything had happened between us, not even the briefest spark of a moment. A moment he should've questioned just as much as I did. ‘Maybe I'm overthinking it…’ So I... I went back to being me.
