Lisa’s POV By the time we pulled up to the house, the sun had started dipping behind the hills, casting long orange streaks over the drive. I half-expected to see Ronan’s car already parked out front, but it was just us. Damon wasn’t around either. The silence inside the house felt heavy, like it knew I’d come back to sit in it and stew. I dropped my bag, kicked off my shoes, and collapsed into one of the plush couches lazily. I hated this. Not the couch, or the silence, or even the house. I hated this... fog.
