Alex’s POV
As the evening unfolds, thirty minutes slip away, yet my mind clings to the scene from earlier. I thought tonight would be a relaxing movie night with Nicole and Coco, snuggled on the couch. But Harry Brooks, the "ex-husband," shows up unexpectedly, altering our plans.
Harry's hand, adorned with a gold watch, grips Nicole's wrist firmly, and she chooses to speak with him. My shout, "Let her go!" feels stupid. Nicole, after all, is talking to him willingly. She's his ex-wife, still dear to him, and who am I to intervene in their conversation?
Agitation swirls within me. What are they discussing? I can't stand his dismissive reference to me as an intern—because that's the truth. What unsettles me is the uncertainty of his intentions. Could Harry be trying to win Nicole back?
