I was certain my composure cracked, but what I couldn't exactly tell was whether he noticed it or not.

Was he perhaps keeping tabs on her? Did he know where she was, and who she was with?
Although Felix said she was with him, I didn't want to believe that. Amelia wasn't one to be controlled or forced into anything she didn't want.
So her being with Felix was obviously impossible, he was just trying to get a reaction from me.
