The Beginning 2

I woke up with a dizzy head. I was catching up my breathing as if I was in a marathon. And then, it hit me. I jolt up from where I was lying and to my surprise, I, no longer, am in the deep sea. Instead, I am lying on top of a wide rock inside a water-filled cave. I immediately look around to see something or someone but there was none. I was about to stand up when I stumbled down on the surface butt first. It feels so weird while I was softly rubbing my butt. It was then when I saw my feet—no—it was a tail. My tail. Out of shock, I tried kicking it out in an attempt to take it off but, I only received a flapping tail instead. I unbelievably gasped. It is my first time seeing my tail in a complete form. In my changing phases, I only grow scales on my leg and other times fins, but it never have been complete in form before. Seeing no two separate legs but a tail... it feels like I am in a dream. It is surreal. Now completely curious with my whole appearance, I went near the waters to check my own reflection and there I saw a siren. I saw my siren form. And as incredulous as it sounds, I think I look magical. With my scales' color scheme of rose gold and just gold and a pair of blue-green eyes which is far from my original set of dark orbs, I feel oddly confident in my siren form. I feel light and also strong, too. It's as if I've gained a power unbeknownst to what I've experienced or had until now. I was so deeply immersed on checking my new self that I did not notice the silhouette that was coming from my back. "You're awake." appeared a man in my eyes with almost half of his body submerge in the water. I screamed loudly out of shock. "What the!..." I exclaimed at the man. The mystery guy just laughed at my reaction as if I was a clown entertaining him. "Calm down." He chuckled. "I won't bite you." After calming myself down and realizing the situation, I hurriedly evacuated myself far from him. He just saw my siren form! What am I going to do? What if he sell me to the black market? Realizing my retreat, the mystery did something that totally snatched my sanity. "I'm a family." He said then flapped his own tail. Now that I see him clearly, he really is a siren just like me. But, my alert mode was still in active. I don't know what he'll do to me if I just let my guard down. No one will be able to help me here, after all. I scanned him. His body is well-built and he's extremely good looking. With a pair of golden orbs and a shiny green scales, he looks breathtaking. "Why am I here? What did you do to me?" I asked him trying to divert my dirty mind. "You were attacked by a deep sea monster. You almost got devoured if I weren't there to save you just in time." He exclaimed. Shocked by what he had said, fragments of my memory before I was brought here came back to me. I remember being dragged from my feet by something. That explains it. It was a sea monster. That really was horrifying, I thought was going to die. "Now that I think about it, why were you there? Don't you know it's a place where Sirens normally avoid? It's a dangerous place, after all." He asked full of curiosity. "I... That was... I was just trying to explore it to see if it was really a dangerous place. Yeah. That's it!" I hurriedly explained wanting to avoid suspicions. Though that sure was a fail because I just have to stutter. He stared at me intensely as if to discern if I was really telling the truth or not. But, he just sighed after a while. "Alright. But, now that you've already clarified its dangers, I hope you won't be reckless again." said he. "Yeah. I know. I never will. That was terribly scary." I expressed. Truthfully, it was really scary. Thank goodness he came to save me right in time. "Now that you seem to be rested, let's go back to kingdom. It will be quite dangerous in here at night." He said then started swimming. I, on the other hand, stayed seated in my place not knowing what to do. Should I follow him? And, what kingdom? Is it the place where sirens live? He must have noticed that I wasn't tagging along because he stopped swimming and turned back on my direction. "What are you waiting for? Let's go." He chided. "I... Y-yeah." I uncertainly answered. Then, I jumped into the water. It was crazy. I never learned how to swim—which is really weird—so I kinda panicked. However, it turned out just fine so in the end, I followed him to where he said. I just hope that they will not be too wary of me. Cross fingers.
