Chapter 16The water of the shower washed over her, a cleanliness that could not wash away the feeling of discomfort that dwelt at the core of her being, the shadow that spread over her. She lifted her head up to the water, feeling it splash across her, and she tried to keep her thoughts straight, to organize everything that crowded her head, vying for her attention. She turned beneath the showerhead, feeling the water on her skin, her face drawn in a scowl, a sense of childish anger burning within her. She hadn’t even liked Momoka, hadn’t even known her, and yet she kept thinking upon her absence, upon the fact that she would never see her again.
