Chapter 42The dim winter light faded to darkness, the world turning, the shape in the sky growing closer and closer. She turned, half-asleep, half-awake, and her dreams were filled with images she could not understand, a jumble of discordant and fractured glimpses, the sound of dogs barking, light moving between trees, another girl reaching out for her hand in the midst of the shadows, and always came the call of her name, of a name that she thought was her own, but, upon waking, was certain was not.
