Selmun, the god of grief
- lonely
- seldom speaks to the other gods, a black sheep really (there are gods for everything)
- he has a twin sister Yanuka, the god of pleasure and joy, the only one he is close to
- together they follow the god of death (sometimes people grieve, other times they rejoice when someone dies, it depends really on the situation)
- in his human form he likes to be a handsome, black haired, tall man, stern of face, but kind and accepting (he calls hiself Dr. Steinman, immunologist)
- he is not a fighter, he observes, it can even be said, that he is shy
- as all gods, he also can bestow eternal life to those he chooses, but never did it, because he has not found anyone worthy of everlasting life
- he has been rejected way too many times, therefore is afraid to love
- was a human before, when time began (he was a priest, who was so kind and so compassionate, that from afar people came to him to find solace in their grief. On his deathbed he was visited by a spirit, that offered him more time in the world of humans, and he foolishly took it. He realized early on that it was a mistake, but no longer was it in his power to change his fate. Or so he believes.)
- he came from egypt
Yamunka, the god of pleasure and joy
- she came from Mesopotamia, where she worked as a priestess in the sacred shrine of fertility
- she was a servant of the great goddess Tiamat, but when the spirit offered her the role she took it
- she is known for her unbridled laughter, and the extasy she brings with her
- she's not very faithful though, loves the new, loves the unexpected, but not always - in one word, she is fickle
- uncontrollable
- has a great following (wherever she goes, people flock to her)
- in her human form, she is a slender woman, moves like a cat, does as she pleases, and changes her shape as she wills. One day she has pink hair and she looks like a hipster, the next, she is a manager, consolidated, but mischievously s****l.
- a very flamboyant character
- loves life and enjoys whatever it brings to her
- men, women, it doesn't matter to her, only pleasure does
(gods relations to each other are always on the level of siblings. If they have a close relationship/non-s****l/, ie: work together they are considered twins. It's not a blood relationship)
gods can't change anything that happen in the human world. they are here to see and follow through
Morna, Selmun's human love interest
- mortal
- a good looking woman, but nothing too special
- kind of boring to be honest (this is what she thinks of herself)
- she used to have dreams, but she has given up on them
- Yamunka knows her, she remembers, and tells a lot about her to Selmun. How she liked to create with her hands (pottery, drawing), how she liked to sing. But since she has slowly given up on her hobbies, and got together with her boyfriend, the joy faded from her life.
- the relationship she has with her boyfriend is not abusive per se, only they grew apart, and she hangs on because of the guilt she feels, because he is sick.
Jack, Morna's boyfriend
- he has some immunological sickness, but it's atypical, and does not respond to the normal protocol
- his condition is slowly getting worse
- but when Dr. Steinman offers the experimental treatment, he refuses
- he senses that there is something between Morna and the doctor, and purely out of spite he wants to exact revenge on her
- can be extremely childish someimes
- eventually he accepts Selmun's offer, when the god shows up as his true self, and tells him the truth about Morna and him
