EVIE TOLD EVERYONE ABOUT OUR ADVENTURE in the bedroom. The three other groups all seemed to have had less exciting nights than we did. One of the groups had investigated an upstairs living room, and a vase had moved on its own, but that was it, and the vase had only moved a few inches. Not all group members were convinced the vase had moved—two of them insisted it had, while the other two chalked it up to their imagination. The other group had explored the library, and they’d picked up some cold spots with their EVP meters. They’d also done the trick with the flashlight, but it had only worked once and then gave up on them. Mortimer Hall was haunted. I had gathered as much from their stories, and from my own experience.
