THE STREETS WERE FLOODED WITH RAIN, and I expected Noah’s ark to come drifting around the corner at any given moment. The Crow’s Nest was hidden between two tall buildings—a small, derelict-looking bar buzzing with people. I parked and rushed over to the bar. Silhouettes reflected across the windows, and a pleasant hum echoed from inside. As soon as I stepped through the door, I figured out two things.
