The hotel was massive. The second they pulled up to the entrance, Isabel couldn’t stop staring out the window. She clutched her bag tighter, eyes wide as she took in the glass exterior, the tall palms that lined the sidewalk, and the soft lighting that made the building glow like a jewel. The second the car door opened, a man in uniform came to collect their bags while another led them through the marble-floored lobby. Everything smelled expensive.
