Isabel froze in place, her hands still trembling from where she had just pulled the IV from her skin. Her breath caught in her throat as she stared at Isaac, wide-eyed and stunned. "Who are you?" he repeated, his voice flat, disinterested, almost robotic. She blinked, chest heaving. "What? Isaac... it's me. It's Isabel." His expression didn’t change. He looked at her like she was a stranger off the street. The doctor stepped in immediately, placing a firm hand on Isabel’s shoulder. "We need to run a few cognitive evaluations. Please, everyone step outside for a moment." Isabel didn’t move. She just kept staring at him. "Please," the doctor said more firmly, guiding her out along with Mercy, Lena, and Vera.
