Getting to Know Each Other

We get out to the backyard everyone is chatting, and drinking. My dad is on grill duty flipping steaks, burgers, chicken, foil packaged veggies (which is mostly for me, because I love vegetables more than meat, but I do love meat I'm not vegetarian or vegan I just love veggies and fruits), and he is checking the smoker that contains all the ribs and a few brisket.  God my family is great, but I wish mom was here to see this. Gideon wraps his arms around my waist from behind. 

"Tesoro your mom will always be in here (placing his hand over my heart), and always watching over you both. I'm sure she's proud of how much you've grown and how much your father has taken care of you." De coos sweetly. 

Then I noticed the table of presents piled so high, and I jump up and down clapping like a child. Gideon chuckles at my behavior, "You have to wait for presents my love. I'm sorry I didn't get you anything, but I will make it up to you. How about going on a date with me tomorrow?" he asks nervously. 

"Baby I would love to go on a date with you! Don't worry about you not getting me a present, and besides you kind of did." I say excitedly. 

"Lettie, I'm so happy you'll go on a date with me, but I didn't get you a present and you are my Queen you deserve it and more." De coos, spins me around, and kisses me. 

"You are my present baby you make me feel so happy and special, and I'm go grateful to Selene (the Moon Goddess) for bringing you into my life." I say before smashing my lips back to his. 

Shelby and Sarah walk over to us, and pull us apart and out of our own little world. Gideon growls and I'm already missing his warmth. "Okay enough loving on him, and spend time with us. I miss you..." Shelby starts to say and gets cut off. 

"Yeah and I want to get to know my new sister and her friend!" Sarah pouts. 

"Okay, okay I'm coming. Sorry baby duty calls, sit by me when we eat, but this birthday girl has to mingle." I say proudly, and my arms are looped on either side by the girls. We greeted a few people, and I introduced Sarah to the ones we talked to making our way to the bar. 

" So, how did you meet my big brother? Was he a jackass or did he sweep you off your feet?" Sarah asks. 

"Both actually! I just had the whole I'm a werewolf princess dumped on me. Selby and my battle buddies had a surprise party planned for me at my club, and I was trying to forget about it. Your brother and his guards burst through the doors, and I was pissed someone interrupted my party... " I started to say 

"Oh Moon Goddess! He did not!" Sarah gasped 

"Then he introduced himself and apologized for disrupting my birthday party. He said that we were mates, I was confused, Serenity tried to explain but I didn't listen to her, and Gideon explained it. I felt guilty for getting angry and almost losing control of my power at him. Then we enjoyed the rest of the party until we decided to come back here because we were exhausted." I finish explaining while looking at my sexy mate talking with Seth, Axel, and Cyrus. Shelby snaps her fingers in front of my face pulling me out of LA LA Land. 

"Earth to Scar wake up and stop lusting! If I can do it so can you!" Shelby yells at me. 

"Yeah you can do it, but you have always known about this stuff so you're better prepared. I can't believe that a gorgeous guy like him is someone destined for me. What if I can't satisfy him? What if when he sees me in a real fight and decides he doesn't want me?" I question getting depressed downing another shot of whiskey, and sip my Guinness. 

"Please Scarlet tell me you don't honestly think that? My brother has waited for you for 10 years! The fact that you are a warrior is probably more of a turn on for him, than you being a high maintenance delicate flower. As far as satisfying him goes virgin or not being with your mate makes you feel whole no one else will ever be able to satisfy him again and I know he would never want anyone other than you. He loves you more than you can imagine, and you will always be his galaxy. Besides that you are GORGEOUS! I'm sure that you have had plenty of men take you out and try to get you into bed!" Sarah says confidently, and I choke on my beer. 

"Ummmmm no actually I mean I do/did get hit on, but usually by arrogant egotistical asshole that think they're Goddess' gift to women. De was actually my first kiss, and I only did it because he was going to hurt Brad. Serenity hollered at me, and told me to kiss him to calm him down." I say embarrassed. 

"Oh My Goddess! That is just so cute!" Sarah squealed yet again, and I roll my eyes. "Well it is! You'd never kissed a guy before, but your wolf knew that it was exactly the perfect way for you to get Giddy to calm down. You did it without hesitating!" Sarah says dreamily. "So what do I need to know about Cyrus? Does he have a current well ex girlfriend now that I should be worried about and have to deal with?" Sarah asks, and Shelby and I bust out laughing. 

"No sweetheart he doesn't have an ex girlfriend to deal with, but he does have a crazy stalker b***h that can't take a hint." Shelby says irritated. 

"Shelby you know it's not his fault that your cousin won't leave him alone! Hell I think if I were a guy she'd be all over me for the power. I should be more pissed than you that b***h has threatened me more times than I care to admit. She thinks that we're sleeping together that's why he won't look at her." I growl and hadn't realized it, but I broke my beer bottle in my hand as I heard her voice and saw her walking out into the backyard. Sarah and Shelby growl as they noticed my gaze has snapped to a blonde haired blue eyed bimbo Theresa who just joined the party. I feel sparks as I snap back to reality, and my mate is looking at me worried about my hand. I look around and realize all of our mates have made their way to us sensing our pain and anger. 

"Lettie baby calm down, and tell me what's wrong. You girls were so happy a moment ago what happened?" De coos at me. 

"Remember how Xander Hill said his mate Theresa rejected him, and you asked who she was?" I ask still glowing slightly red. 

"Yes baby but why are you upset?" De asks confused still. 

"She's the bimbo walking this way greeting people. She stalks Cyrus, and blames me for him not wanting her." I growl watching her head towards us. I see Seth has Shelby wrapped up in his arms holding her in place. As Cyrus goes to wrap Sarah into his arms She is thrown into one of the boulders that line one of the walking paths by Theresa snaking her way into Cyrus' arms and I lost it. I grabbed her by the neck and throw her backwards into the clearing.
