She didn’t want to wait that long, in any case.
But she was a police officer, and a damn good one, so she decided it was time to do a little research. She flagged a man down and asked him where the nearest library was. He ignored her.
She asked a woman and got the middle finger in response.
Finally, the third person she asked, an older gentlemen, directed her to the nearest library. She thanked him and made her way towards it, trying her best to avoid traffic and other pedestrians.
She reached the library and made her way inside, then found an empty computer and sat down at it. Her first search was to find the closest fire departments in relation to her.
She found a couple, wrote down their numbers, and then stepped outside to make the phone calls.
