Chapter Three

2240 Words
Adari Rami eyed me as Cyllenna went to change. I turned to walk out of this area so we could speak. “How could you? I thought we agreed to wait. We need their help.” I admonished him. “I couldn’t help it. I didn’t like that fae’s scent on her. I didn’t mean to take things as far as it went, but she kissed me and… And I was lost to her. I lost all control to her. I… I…” Rami was exasperated. “What are we going to do? I don’t want to be selfish, but I can’t say that I wouldn’t do the same if Camaria or any of the sisters began kissing me as Cyllenna just did to you.” I admitted. “You know we need them.” Rami lowered his head almost in defeat. “I know, but what can we do?” “Try and resist the sisters.” Rami didn’t sound too confident. “You need to tell yourself that like fifteen minutes ago.” I retorted. “Cyllenna wants us to watch the movie things. I think we need to be prepared.” Rami warned. “Prepared for what?” I asked. “That’s just it. I don’t know.” “Ready?” Cyllenna asked. We looked at her and nodded. “Cool, let’s fly.” Cyllenna suggested as we left the dance studio. I grinned. I love flying. I conjured my wings fast and Rami did the same. It took a few extra seconds for Cyllenna to change into her dragon. I could see the utter desire ratchet up in Rami as he looked upon his mate. “Calm yourself.” I warned in air speak. Rami turned his stare upon me, and I knew I got his attention. In a blink it seemed as if we had returned to the main family home. From what Camaria explained to me they restructured our living quarters to allow for alone time to see how we all suit together. We do spend some time up in their family’s living quarters, but I like our space better. I like how the sisters are always touching us to show us things or guide us. We’re fast learners, but the spells that help us to adjust faster to Earth I feel blessed to have. We absorbed our wings when we landed. Cyllenna took on her human form again. We made our way to our floor. Camaria and Calesta were adjusting pillows on the couch. They paused to look at Cyllenna and I think they were communicating in the mind link. Zabi was staring Rami down and using air speak to find out what happened with Cyllenna of which he was explaining, and I tuned them out. “Come on, we’re on pizza duty.” Camaria pulled at me, and I followed her into the kitchen. “What are we doing?” “We’re going to stretch the dough that Zabi and Calesta made for the pizzas and top them with the toppings before we bake them. Just follow my lead. We can’t have movie night without pizza and snacks.” Camaria had a light tone, but also something deeper when she said movie night. I didn’t have time to analyze what she was intending. Her hands were on mine, and she was showing me how to stretch the dough. Her scent was driving me insane. Her scent reminds me of Tebal’s rarest and most beautiful of flowers. The rurze flower is blue with golden thorns that protect the nectar of the flower. It is so hard to extract the nectar of the rurze flower without killing the flower. Our mom trained the noke insects to gather the nectar as the noke are made to do just that. They are similar to Earth’s bumblebees, but noke can change their coloring to get past most flowers’ defenses to collect the nectar. Our mom made a good living selling rurze nectar until war broke out when we were younglings. It has been rough living for us for a long time now on Tebal. Our leaders have made bad decisions that have led to too many deaths. Our parentage allows Rami a seat to debate our leaders, but at the same time it is frowned upon that we are not full-blooded nephilim. They certainly do not like that Rami suggested we leave Tebal to save as many on our planet as we can. They called him a coward. We all understood that preserving life was not a coward’s way. Soon after the offer of the sisters was presented to us, and we knew we needed help. If we could get the daughters of our father’s queens and kings on our side. We may have a chance to save Tebal if we are not too late as is. “Hey, where did you go to?” Camaria asked. I shook my head. “Go to?” “Yeah, you kind of spaced out on me. I was telling you what to do next and you were zoned out. Is everything alright?” I tried to smile at her. “Yes, I was just thinking of my home.” “Do you miss your family?” “Very much.” I felt Camaria deflate a little. “You know you can break…” I cut her off and kissed her lips. Camaria tasted better than rurze nectar. I now understand why Rami had a hard time resisting Cyllenna’s kiss. Camaria pressed against my chest and gently pushed me away. The color in her cheeks have flushed a beautiful pink. I stared into her beautiful crystal green-gray eyes. Her eyes are the brightest of the sisters. Camaria smiled awkwardly. “Sorry. I want to be here. We want to be here. Don’t question that we would rather leave. I’ve been waiting for you for a long time it seems.” “But you’re only twenty-three.” “Yes, in Earth years. A year on Tebal is about eight or nine of Earth’s months. By Tebal standards we’re closer to twenty-six.” “So, when it's your birthday how many candles do we need to put on your cakes?” Camaria seemed to tease, but also had a serious look in her eyes. “Since we are on Earth just put the twenty-four though I don’t know why you need to put candles on a cake.” I was confused. Camaria laughed at my confusion. I didn’t find it funny. “I’ll explain Earth birthdays to you I promise.” She pecked my lips before we returned to preparing these pizzas. Camaria laughed at me many times as I tried to place each topping perfectly on the pizza. She would remind me as Cyllenna did this morning that it doesn’t have to be perfect, we are just going to eat it. I can’t help it. I like everything to look aesthetically pleasing. My brothers are not like me in this aspect. We rejoined my brothers and her sisters in the living room. Rami had changed and I noticed that Zabi was curled up to Calesta in a little section of the couch as well as Cyllenna and Rami. Camaria guided me to the side of the huge couch and pulled me down to sit next to her. “How about we start the movie while we wait for the pizza to finish baking?” Calesta suggested. My brothers agreed immediately. Camaria cuddled into me, and I was lost holding her in my arms. I looked around and each of the sisters had fallen asleep in our arms. I didn’t want to move. “They are asleep. What do we do?” I asked. “I’m not moving. I like having Calesta right here in my arms.” “Zabi.” Rami had a scolding tone. “No, no Zabi. You both got to kiss your mates while I had to watch all these movies as the mates kissed in them. I am going to keep Calesta in my arms all night if I can.” “Fine but cover them. We don’t need them cold.” Rami ordered us. I adjusted a little bit and tucked the blanket around Camaria a little better with my left hand. Camaria was using my right arm a bit like a pillow. I snuggled myself down further on the couch and wrapped my left arm over Camaria’s back. She murmured softly before snuggling her face into my chest. I don’t know what I’m going to do, I’m falling harder and harder for her. For all of them. ∞∞∞ “Fly with me.” Camaria tugged at my hand. I want to deny her. It has been agony these past two weeks trying to keep my hands to myself especially after watching movies with the sisters and Camaria falling asleep in my arms. It felt so good and right to wake with her in my arms, but wrong too. “Earth to Adari.” “Huh?” “It’s an expression to get your attention. Where did you just go? Do you want to fly with me or not? I can ask Rami or Zabi instead.” “Uh no. Wait that’s not what I meant.” She scowled a little. “I meant you don’t have to ask my brothers. I will fly with you.” I rushed out. “Good.” Camaria stepped away and took on her dragon form. She is so beautiful as a dragon too. I manifested my wings. Camaria’s dragon loomed over my adjusted height. She lowered her muzzle to the side of my head and inhaled my golden hair. I felt a warm air blow over the side of my head and down into my neck. She nudged my hands next. I touched her muzzle. She rubbed her muzzle against my fingers. I idly began scratching her muzzle and head. Her dragon seemed to vibrate under my touch. “I thought you wanted to fly with me.” Her dragon abruptly stepped back where I could no longer touch her and took off into the air. I laughed as I followed her. We flew for a while. I love flying with my mate. We tumbled around each other and played in the air. Camaria landed on the top of the cliff near the waterfall that falls behind the family house. I guess as the town expanded into a city, they built a new main house for everyone to spend time in and the family took over the old one as a family home more so than a place to visit in. Though many still visit and spend time with the sisters' siblings. Camaria took her human form. She was looking at me with desire in her eyes. She jumped at me and wrapped her limbs around my body. Camaria began kissing in my neck. My legs wanted to wobble. I was just holding her. I wanted to push her away. We shouldn’t do this. I want to, but we just need to… I couldn’t think as my senses were overcome with Camaria. She had begun to kiss me slipping her tongue into my mouth and my knees buckled under me. We tumbled to the ground. I took the brunt of the fall. Camaria was on top of me. I was going to ask if she was hurt when she resumed her tongue’s invasion. She rubbed her body all over mine. I was mentally warring with myself to stop this. I grasped her arms and pushed her up and away from my body to give separation. Camaria opened her eyes and looked at me. I could see the hurt I caused in her eyes. “We can’t.” I rasped out. I didn’t get the chance to continue to explain. Camaria gave a curt nod and her body left mine. She was changed into her dragon before I could get off the ground. I moved to chase her dragon to explain as she flew to the house. Camaria landed near my brothers and her sisters. I landed a few seconds after her. Camaria smiled at her sisters and refused to look at me nor my brothers. “Where were you?” Calesta asked. “Adari and I went flying for a little bit.” “Are you okay? You look flushed. Are you getting sick?” Cyllenna asked concerned. Camaria touched her face. “I feel fine, but…” “Maybe you should go see mom or Chase and have one of them see if you need healing.” Calesta suggested. Camaria shook her head. “I’m fine. They’re busy. If I feel worse, I’ll go talk to one of them.” Camaria assured her sisters. My brothers were looking at me with concern. They can tell something is off. I will explain to them later after I apologize to Camaria. We followed the ladies inside. “I think I’m going to lay down for a little bit. I’m a little tired.” Camaria said before heading to her bedroom and closing her door. She waited a moment before I heard the click of the lock being set into place while my brothers and her sisters had moved off to do their own things. I didn’t know what to do now. I hurt Camaria and I need to fix it.
