Aria's Pov
Caspian took one look at my face when he returned to the dorm and immediately locked the door behind him.
"What happened?"
"He knows," I said without preamble. "Not suspects. Knows. He called me by my real name."
"He what?"
"Miss Nightborne. He said it directly to my face."
Caspian went very still. "Did Hayes hear?"
"I don't think so. But Caspian, he's toying with me. He knows exactly who I am, he knows I'm not really cooperating with him, and he's enjoying watching me squirm."
"Son of a bitch."
"It gets worse. He's planning something specific for the trials, something that involves identifying students who don't belong and eliminating them permanently."
I filled him in on the rest of the conversation, watching his expression grow darker with each detail.
