That evening, Hayes finally left me alone in the dorm room. Apparently, even Academy supervisors needed bathroom breaks and dinner, though he made it clear he'd be back within the hour to escort me to "supervised evening study time."
I had maybe fifty minutes to figure out what the hell was going on.
