A Vatican official, distinguishable by a purple belt tied around his midriff made his way towards Leonardo’s house. He was an irksome creature with pallid skin who appeared to have a constant sliver of grease covering his clammy hands. He looked through a window, seeing no one in the room he tried the door handle and, with the habits of a thief, sneaked into the house. Looking around the large downstairs room nothing suspicious arrested his attention, but upon hearing sounds from upstairs he froze to the spot. The official waited momentarily before carefully making his way one step at a time up the staircase that led to Leonardo’s studio. The door at the top of the studio was partially open.
