In the pleasant little village of Treviglio, nestled in the fertile valley between the rivers Adda and Serio, Alessandro, a weaver by trade, ambled his way past terracotta rooftops and thatched cottages. Dressed in a knee-length smock of dark blue with sandals on his feet, his face and arms were bronzed from working in the sun.
