Chapter 1At the sound of boots on the barn floor, Ash Jacobs sniffed the air, assessing which member of his pack had come looking for him and whether or not he could escape out the back window before he was discovered. The sharp – and in Ash’s opinion putrid – scent of his older cousin Jack stung his nose and he debated shifting into his wolf form in order to flee faster. The decision was made for him, however, when Jack’s voice echoed through the barn. “I know you’re in here Ash. The scent of your depression is suffocating.
