Chapter eight: Vitus' run

640 Words
Vitus ran and ran, he didn't know where he was going and he didn't care either. Vitus stopped running, he turned down his music, which had been blasting into his ears and leaned his body against a large tree. His leg hurt, but Vitus had never had a big problem with pain. It had however taken one and a half hours and the sweet feeling of his own sweat trickling down his body, for him to finally feel tired. Vitus looked around wondering where he was. Inside the building behind the tree seemed to be a small kiosk and across the road he read a sign: "cups and spoons". "Not this again" he groaned. Just when he thought he had finally freed his mind from the thoughts about Leila, his body had carried him to the place where he first saw her. Not only his head was against him, but also his body, "good job my heart turned to stone a long time ago, otherwise that would join the 'gang up on Vitus crew' too" he chuckled quietly to himself. He took his phone out of his pocket and opened the navigation system, looking for the shortest way back to his hotel. He zoomed in to see the names of the roads he was going to walk down. His breath hitched, the one street to his left was the name of Leila's street. He was going to have to walk right past her house. Although he knew he should feel annoyed, he didn't, he actually felt a sense of warmth and before he knew it his feet had taken off towards Leila's building. .......... Leila tossed and turned in bed. She was fast asleep and having a nightmare, she woke up sweating, "bblluuuee" she stammered. She switched on the light and went to get a glass from the cupboard and some water from the tap. Why did she keep dreaming of Vitus' icy blue eyes? It was as if he was staring at her whilst she slept. Leila shuddered at the thought. She grabbed her laptop and padded over to the small table next to her kitchenette. "V i t u s" she typed into the search engine, then she paused, there probably were millions of Vitus' in the world, how was she going to find the exact one she was looking for?! Leila sighed and closed her laptop. She went back to bed with her glass of water, turned off the light and tried to fall asleep. .......... Vitus stood staring at Leila's building. All the lights were off, everyone seemed to be asleep or not at home. He wondered what floor the little lady lived on. She can't live on the ground floor, they have children's paintings in the window, he mused. The second and third floor flats seemed to big for a woman alone. Then again, she might not be alone, she might have a boyfriend or even a husband. Vitus mentally kicked himself, why hadn't he asked her whether she was single when he was able to?! Then he stopped, why was it important to him? Single or not, every woman he had ever known had always wanted to f*ck him, no matter whether she had a boyfriend or not. Why should this time be any different?! Suddenly a light went on in one of the attic windows. Vitus wondered if there were appartments up the very top, he came to the conclusion that if there are they must be quite small. Just right for his perfectly petite woman, he smiled. Then he shook his head. What the hell was he doing here?! He was acting like a stalker, what the h*ll was wrong with him today?! Vitus pulled up his hood and turned away, he walked further on down the road and rang his driver.
