Chapter eleven: playing the game

"Would you tell me what you wanted to say, now?" Leila asked Vitus carefully. "I know I said you don't have to and you don't, but if you want to, I would really appreciate it." She continued confidently. Vitus stared at Leila for what seemed ages to her, making her shift uncomfortably in her seat. "What about if we play a game?" She suggested. "What type of game?" Vitus was getting agitated. He didn't want to play some silly game. The only thing he wanted to play was with the woman sat infront of him. "What about if we take it in turns to ask each other questions the first one to not answer a question loses, the other wins?" She asked shyly. "What's there to win?" Vitus seemed interested. Leila shrugged, "I don't know...it doesn't matter, it was a silly idea." She said quickly. Vitus acted as though he hadn't heard her "If I win, I get to choose what we do next, if you win, you get to choose what we do next." He stated firmly. Leila blushed and looked down. She was not expecting this outcome. She thought about it, She shook her head subconciously, Dimitri and Julie had told her to stay away from him, yet here she sat debating whether to agree to his terms or not. She concluded that if he had wanted to hurt her, he would of by now. He was Vitus Sorokin for goodness sake, he was hardly merciful. Vitus saw that she had shaken her head even if it had been ever so subtle. He knew she was debating on whether to agree to his suggestion or not. He exhaled slowly trying to calm himself. He didn't know why he was so nervous. Women never normally made him nervous. "Ok." Leila said unexpectedly confident. Vitus looked into her brown doe like eyes. She always managed to surprise him, he thought, she was so much stronger than she seemed on the outside. The corners of Vitus' mouth turned up slightly. Let's make this game worth while, he said to himself. "Just out of interest what would you choose to do next?" Leila asked. "That's your first question?!" Vitus was surprised, he knew it was going to be easy to win this game, but he hadn't thought it would be this easy. He could of sworn that she would of asked him to finish his sentence, which he had started earlier. "Yes, now I gave you your first answer, you better answer mine" Leila smirked. Vitus had under estimated her, that wouldn't happen again, he thought playfully. "I would take you home and do things to you like they have never been done to you before." Vitus smirked. Leila blushed "well that isn't hard." She murmered under her breath, Vitus didn't know if he has misheard her. "What isn't hard?" Vitus asked, before he could stop himself, he had used another of his questions. Maybe winning isn't so easy after all, he thought. Leila looked up straight into Vitus' eyes and cleared her throat, trying to grasp her last slither of dignity, "doing things to me that have never been done to me before, it isn't hars to do something to someone, if nothing has ever been done before" she said loud enough to seem confident. Vitus jaw dropped. She didn't mean.. she couldn't mean.. yes she was young, but not that young.. yes she was shy, but was she really that shy?! She was a student for crying out loud, what else do students do? Leila shifted in her seat uncomfortably. "I-i-it's my turn," she said anxiously, not knowing what to make of Vitus' expression, "why did the waiter offer you his condolences?" Leila asked seriously trying to change the subject. Vitus stopped "Oh Leila, you can easily google that." He said disappointedly. "So that means I win? You don't want to answer the question?" Leila asked hopefully. Vitus nodded, let her win, he thought. He wouldn't of known what to do with a virgin girl anyway. "So what do you want to do?" Vitus asked half heartedly, his mind was still on what she had said before. Maybe she was exaggerating and she just didn't have much experience, she didn't have to be a complete virgin, he assured himself. "I would like you to take me home and never look for me, speak or talk to me again." Leila said seriously. Vitus was ripped from his thoughts. He stared at her. His mouth shaped into a grim line. Slowly his face adopted an impassive expression. There he was wanting to take her home and f*ck her senseless and all she wanted to do was get away from him. Why the h*ll did she want to ask him questions in the first place?! Vitus was furious. But he didn't plan on letting that little lady see that her declaration mattered so much to him. "If you want to go home and you want me to never come back, then why bother with the questions" Vitus asked Leila angrily. Internally Leila was shaking. She knew this was the only way out and even if she didn't know if she really wanted out. She knew she had to trust her friends from the coffee shop. Leila shrugged. "If you don't want to speak. Don't. Nothing good has ever come out of a woman's mouth, only ever gone in it." Vitus snapped and got up. "You want me to take you home?! Fine so be it. We're leaving." He strode out through the restaurant leaving Leila to gather her things quickly. Her stomach was starting to ache. She didn't mean to infuriate Vitus. She had only wanted to listen to her friends. Without thinking about what she was doing Leila ran after him. She didn't care that the people in the restaurant were watching her. All she could think about was stopping Vitus. She swung open the door and ran out without looking "Vitus wa-" she was just about to shout for him to wait, when she suddenly smacked in to a wall. A warm wall.
