Emma couldn't stop smiling for the rest of the day.
Every time she looked at her phone, she wondered if Ethan would call.
That evening, as she was making dinner, her phone suddenly rang.
Unknown Number.
Her heart skipped a beat.
"Hello?"
"Hi, Emma."
She immediately recognized his voice.
"Ethan."
"I hope I'm not disturbing you."
"Not at all."
"I was wondering... would you like to have dinner with me tomorrow evening?"
Emma smiled.
"I'd love to."
"Great. I'll pick you up at seven."
"I'll be ready."
After ending the call, Emma couldn't hide her excitement.
The next day felt longer than ever.
She spent the entire morning at work trying to concentrate, but every few minutes she glanced at the clock.
Lily laughed.
"Someone can't wait for tonight."
Emma blushed.
"It's just dinner."
"That's how every love story begins."
When work finally ended, Emma hurried home.
She spent nearly an hour choosing what to wear before deciding on a simple light-blue dress.
She wanted to look beautiful without trying too hard.
At exactly seven o'clock, the doorbell rang.
Emma opened the door.
Ethan stood there holding a bouquet of white roses.
"For you."
"They're beautiful."
"So are you."
Emma smiled shyly.
"Thank you."
Ethan opened the car door for her like a true gentleman.
As they drove through the city, soft music played quietly in the background.
"So," Ethan asked.
"Have you always wanted to become a writer?"
Emma nodded.
"Since I was a little girl."
"My mother used to read stories to me every night."
"One day I want people to read mine."
"They will."
His answer came without hesitation.
He believed in her more than she believed in herself.
A few minutes later they arrived at a rooftop restaurant overlooking the entire city.
The sunset painted the sky in shades of orange and pink.
Candles decorated every table.
It felt magical.
"I've never been somewhere this beautiful," Emma whispered.
"I'm glad I could share it with you."
During dinner they laughed, shared stories, and talked about their dreams.
For the first time in years, Ethan felt completely relaxed.
He wasn't thinking about work.
He wasn't thinking about business.
He was only thinking about Emma.
After dinner they walked onto the terrace.
A cool breeze passed between them.
Below, thousands of city lights sparkled like stars.
"It's beautiful," Emma said.
Ethan looked at her instead of the view.
"I know."
Emma noticed him staring.
"What?"
"I wasn't looking at the city."
She looked down, smiling.
A violinist nearby began playing a soft romantic melody.
Ethan slowly extended his hand.
"May I have this dance?"
Emma hesitated for only a second before placing her hand in his.
They danced slowly beneath the stars.
Neither of them spoke.
Words were unnecessary.
For that moment, the world belonged only to them.
When the music ended, they remained standing close to each other.
"I don't want tonight to end," Ethan admitted.
"Neither do I."
As Ethan drove Emma home, neither wanted to say goodbye.
Before she got out of the car, Ethan handed her a small gift.
"What is it?"
"Open it after I leave."
Emma smiled.
"I will."
She watched his car disappear into the distance before going inside.
Opening the small box, she found a silver bookmark engraved with the words:
**'Never stop writing your dreams.'**
Emma felt tears fill her eyes.
No one had ever given her such a thoughtful gift.
But across the street...
The same black luxury car was parked in the shadows.
A mysterious man watched everything.
He picked up his phone.
"Sir..."
"They're getting closer."
A cold voice answered from the other end.
"Then it's time to separate them."
Emma and Ethan had no idea...
Their greatest challenge had just begun.
