A house few blocks from the Pendigram’s residence…
Everyone finally arrived. It was already 8:35 in the evening and we haven’t started our meeting yet. It was really annoying when they arrived so late. The shadow sat to the chair at the far end of the massive dining room. There were no lights on like there was a black out. Only the light from the candles were making it able to see through the darkness. The room was full of tension and it vibrated in the air. When everyone were finally seated, the meeting began
“Meeting commence. We are going to address all the issues from the most important to least important,” the leader of the group said, who was seated at the head of the table. I only knew two things about him. First, we called him Death and second, he was the person who planned all the kills and ordered all the assassinations, “First of all, I want to know what’s going on about the mission of breaking the cycle. The Crystal Moon is coming closer as we speak and we need to hurry up if we want Lord Cryros to be free,” Death continued. Even though the topic was really important, his voice remained calm and neutral. The Crystal Moon that he was referring to was the phenomenon that only occurs once every era. So if we miss it this era, then there would be no chance of doing it again.
“The plan is still in motion, Sir. Out of the twelve founding families, only two of them are still walking in this world, but that won’t last long,” a booming voice said, coming from the left side of Death. “We just disposed the one named Syries Bane, I gotta tell you that guy was a tough one,” he continued while making the tsking sound. From where I was sitting, I could see him as a tall man, about 6’7 and broad shoulders. He looked fine if you weren't going to stare at his face because he had a very menacing and scary face. He had the face that would not just scare many children but even adults would have their knees shaking, plus his disgusting dark aura that was so nasty you would never want to sit next to him. I was really glad that I wasn't sitting beside him.
Death just sat there quietly for a few minutes before saying, “We must hurry. The Crystal Moon is not waiting for us to finish everything. Just finish the mission as soon as possible,” he sat back neutrally again and started eating. Everyone followed as if on cue.
“Does anybody seen Reek around?” somebody asked somewhere in the middle of the table. Everybody suddenly stopped eating. The murmurs of question flew around. Now that I think about it, Reek really was missing. I was so immersed with other things that I forgot that one of the chairs was unoccupied.
How the hell did I miss his smell?
