She walked towards me while the other guy edge closer to the window. We just stared at each other for a few minutes until I couldn’t take it anymore that it made me almost yelled at her.
“What the hell are you doing here? How did you know my dad?" I asked her simultaneously.
She just raised her eyebrows and walked to the sofa on my right. She put her purse down and propped one of her legs to the other. She stared at me for a minute again and then she said, “It’s confidential” which made me sprang up the bed causing me to be unbalanced and my hands slipped off the railings of my bed that I was holding. Next thing I knew was, I was lying face down in the ground while the two of them were laughing so hard at me.
“That was totally hilarious, man!” the other guy said. He was the same age as me with the same physique but his eyes were silver gray. This guy might be Rizza’s boyfriend.
“Catch any frog, Hunter?” Rizza asked secondarily. I didn’t appreciate any of their comments, especially Rizza’s joke.
I stood up trying to regain my composure while thinking of way to prevent my embarrassment. My temper was spiking at the same time. I completely stood up on my own without any of them helping me. What a great helper they are! Damn you dad!
“As I really don’t care about you and your boyfriend laughing at me, my opinion about not telling me what’s going on is different. What the hell is so confidential that you can’t tell me anything?” I asked her, exasperated. I realized that Rizza ignored my “boyfriend” comment.
As I sat at my bed, Rizza spoke. “I’m sure that your dad didn’t tell you anything for your own good, it’s the same reason we have,” she said, looking sad.
“What’s going on? Everyone is lying now. My dad, you and even my best friend. I can’t understand anything anymore,” I said while rubbing my face. “Somebody just tried to kill me today and you’re still talking about this secret? Unbelievable,” I asked her, shaking my head in the process.
She came near me and touched my shoulder. “I’m really sorry for all of this, Hunter. But we can’t tell you anything. You must find your path on your own,” she said.
I shrugged off her hand and stood up.“The hell to your path. I don’t care about that. I care about my life and until those psychopaths who are trying to kill me are in jail, I will never be able to sleep at night,” I told her, scowling.
“If you think that your life is complicated, then try to live ours. I don’t know if you can even last long for a single day!” the other guy interrupted suddenly. It was so unexpected it threw me off balance, disabling me from saying anything for a few seconds. We just stared each other for a few minutes, me standing in Rizza’s side and him, leaning back in the wall near the window.
An idea entered my mind. I won’t let him mock me. “Really? Why not give me an example of your “complicated” life? I bet it’s just a bluff from you,” I pretended laughing.
He glared at me then and replied, “Bluff? You think I’m bluffing, you ignorant idiotic spoiled-brat fool!”
I got him now. “That’s what I said! Why would I believe in anything that you’re saying? After all, you’re just a f*****g stranger to me so your words doesn’t really matter,” I shouted back at him.
He lunged for me then, which I dodged but he nearly reached my neck. I hit his stomach with my left fist after I side stepped beside him. He staggered backward for a moment then he reached out again, this time he successfully grabbed my arm which he twisted. I cried out from the pain but I managed to break off his hold by stepping really hard on his toes. He automatically reached for it and I punched his stomach real hard. He grabbed it next, letting go of his foot. Then I got a hold of his head and brought my knees upward, hitting his face perfectly. He staggered backward again, with his nose bleeding; I spun around and kicked him in his chest causing him to hit the wall. He fell down after.
I started smiling but someone grabbed my hair. I gritted my teeth from the pain and next thing I knew, I was laying on the ground too like that guy, after a swept kick I received that made me fell down. I got hit in the stomach which made me grunt from the impact, disabling me to breathe for a few seconds.
I heard a very angry voice then. “What the hell the two of you are doing? You’re like two kids fighting for a toy. The thing that you just did was so childish and stupid,” She glared at the other guy and pointed at me. “You? You’re supposed to be resting, not trying to start a fight. I know what you’re trying to do and I’m impressed that you already know what kind of guy that dumbo is, but that doesn’t give you the reason to try and set him off.”
After she glared at me for a few more seconds, she walked away and came closer to the other guy, who was trying to stand up now.“Razor, You made a very unwise decision here and act violently. You broke the rule not to strike an innocent person. I’m very disappointed,” She shouted at him. At least the guy had some courtesy to flushed red. He turned his head away. I guess that if he was her boyfriend, not anymore after that. “Hunter here was just trying to provoke you so you will spit out the secret,” Rizza continued.
I didn’t know what made me do it but I suddenly found myself saying. “He more likely spitted a tooth,” I joked, laughing.
I saw them looked at me and he started laughing too. “At least, I didn’t cough blood,” he said. Then we laughed at each other. Rizza looked so confused and lost. I stood up then and walked towards them. But Rizza blocked my way before I could come closer. “You won’t come near him again,” she warned.
I smiled at her and replied. “It’s okay. I’m just gonna introduce myself,” stepping sideways to passed through her. I reached out my hand to the other guy and smiled, “Hunter, Hunter Pendigram man. Nice to meet you.”
He smiled back and took my hand. "Nice to meet you, Hunter. Razor’s my name. Razor Thorne.”
“Sorry about earlier. I’m just really desperate to know about this secret. I’m sorry if I hit you too hard.” I said apologetically.
He shook his head. “You’re better off not knowing this secret of ours but sooner or later, you won’t have any choice. You hit pretty hard, what are you? Taekwondo master?” He joked.
I laughed out loud and replied. “You got that right. Even though I’m not a master yet, I just got my black belt yesterday.”
“That’s really awesome dude. Back in the camp I’m---” he didn’t get the chance to finished what he was about to say because Rizza interrupted us.
“I don’t want to break your male bonding time but Razor, we need to go. It’s an emergency,” she said looking serious. Razor nodded at her and she glanced at me. “Are you going to be okay alone in here?” she asked me.
“I’ll go with you! I’m well enough,” I said at her but she shoved her hands at my face.
“You can’t yet. You’re not going to check out yourself now. It’s none of your business what we’re about to do anyway. Get some rest. Will be back as soon as we’re finish,” she said.
She grabbed Razor then and run outside leaving me no choice but to stare at the place they’d been standing. If they were not gonna check me out, then I was gonna check out myself.
I stood up and left the place for the sick. I wasn't patient anymore, literally and figuratively.
