The whole week Sage buried herself in books, constantly facing her laptop trying to figure out the meaning behind the tattoo. Not that she was so keen on helping, she just couldn't fathom the thought of having no idea about a specific detail in something. Her mind was preoccupied with the case that her ego and pride can't handle the thought of cluelessness.
However, the serial killing case wasn't just the only thing she searched for but also the case that they agreed to help on. She still thinks that getting a specialist was better. DID was the highest possibility they could connect the case with. She didn't seem to understand the importance of 'helping' Kylie when her friend wouldn't even help herself. She found it insignificant.
Like what they talked about, Sage arrived at the school earlier than her supposed classes. She still couldn't believe she agreed with helping someone she doesn't even know. Not to mention hundreds of stares piercing her the moment she entered the campus. She still couldn't get used to the attention she's receiving.
"Sage!" She turned around to find a grinning Daexoen waving at her.
he runs up to the younger, "Good morning, Let's go to the cafeteria together" Daexoen offered as he reached where she was standing.
They started to walk towards the main cafeteria of their school. The school was big since it was a multi-educational institution. The school was rich with facilities that each year department has cafeteria of its own. There's one cafeteria for the Elementary level, middle school, high school, and College level. However, there was a Cafeteria in their main building open for all year levels. This building is where all teachers and staff are located. Students barely go there since it was pretty far from their departments yet there were still some who would transfer to the main cafeteria if their respective cafeterias are packed.
As soon as they entered the main cafeteria all eyes were glued to them. Who wouldn't look at the two students that just saved their school from an explosive just two days ago? They were the hottest topic on the school's page, both teachers and students were burning with interest in the said 'Genius Duo'.
Annoying as it may be, the two decided to ignore the students and focus their attention on the main reason why they were early to arrive at their school campus. They immediately spotted Kylie sitting at the middle table of the room, bubbly waving her hand at them, far different from the one that was crying and begging them at their previous meeting.
"Good morning, would you two like something to eat first? My treat" She asked the two as they took a seat right in front of her.
"Thanks for the offer but I think we're both good" Daexoen politely turned down.
Sage spoke up, catching both students' attention, "Let's get straight to the point. What else can you tell us? Until now we don't even know her name"
"Sage" Daexoen scolded.
Kylie however, shook her head before giving them a small smile, "No, it's fine. So her name is Margaux, Margaux Preston. We're both 3rd-year students in the course of Chemical Engineering. And like I said the other day, She's the student council president. Wait, how come you don't know her?" she asked them, confused by their sudden cluelessness.
"I just transferred, Today's my first day actually" Daexoen plainly answered
"I transferred last year, and I don't like engaging myself with other people, especially the student committee," Sage added.
The oldest nodded, "Oh, no wonder. So like I said Margx is a studious student. She's sweet, happy-go-lucky and a very reliable type of person . Her parents are usually out of the country for work and I also heard her sister is studying abroad as well. So she's staying with her aunt and uncle." Kylie continued
"And was there ever a problem with her situation? Like are her parents neglecting her? Was she ever abused by her relatives?" Daexoen asked the most common questions that could lead them to suggest a mental disorder.
She shook her head, "No, she wasn't. Her parents would call her every day even just an hour to ask about her well-being and they would always be here for her major activities. Her Aunt and Uncle are also very welcoming towards her when she first started to live with them. They don't have a child so they treated her as their own. Her life is basically perfect, I don't think they would be the reason for any of this." The girl explained.
Daexoen nodded, "Okay, how about this teacher of yours?" he followed.
"I actually don't have a lot of information regarding Sir Myers. I just know his full name is Jonathan Myers. He started teaching here just a couple of months ago as our trigonometry teacher. He said he used to live in a different country but decided to stay here to settle down. He's a bachelor and I won't deny that he has features every girl would swoon for" Kylie said.
"Even your best friend?" Sage suddenly intervened.
Kylie's lips turned into a sad frown, "I guess so. I don't even know why. Margx has always been the study first kind of girl. She has a lot of suitors, she even liked a guy before but she stopped him from courting because she wanted to focus on her studies. That's why I want to know what's with the teacher? And why she started to act like an obsessed girlfriend. One day she doesn't care, the next she's delirious about him" she confessed.
The two didn't say anything after the long explanation. From what they heard she did live a somewhat near-perfect life. So what would drive her to be like this? Is it really the teacher?
"We're not that sure if the teacher does have any connection with this, but we should at least try, right?" Daexoen said, looking intently at the younger female.
Sage sighed knowing exactly what the other wanted, "Right." she forcefully said, "we need to get close to this teacher to see if she'll react to it, we also need to get close to her as well but how?"
"Uhh" Kylie tried to get their attention. "Sir Myers is the adviser of the art club. Even though he teaches math he has a great talent for drawing. And Margaux is also part of that club. Oh, that's the other thing. She used to be so great with arts but now. She started to be, umm. How could I say this? Terrible? It's like she forgot how to draw" she added.
"Huh. That is weird" Daexoen said, "But Art club? You know how to draw?" He asked Sage, genuinely curious about the female's possible talent.
Sage began to think if she would qualify for the club if ever, "A little bit, but I think decent enough to join" She reluctantly answered.
Daexoen nodded before he sighed, "Guess we're joining an art club then."
"But if you don't want to be a permanent member," Kylie said when she noticed the distraught faces of the two when they mentioned joining a club. "You two can try registering as temporary members. Just say you're not sure which club to join so you're trying out for a day or two. They'll let you in a short while/" she added.
Their faces lit up knowing they didn't really need to join a club, "Good Idea, I didn't actually want to join a club. Let's apply for registration later then?" Daexoen said, earning a quick nod from the younger.
"Kylie!"
The three looked at the person who just came in the cafeteria doors, she had her hair tied up in a clean pony tail wearing a simple shirt with skinny jeans. She had this big smile on her face and her arm extended in the air waving to catch the attention of her best friend. She slowly made her way towards their table.
"That's Margaux"
