Chapter 44: Are we going to tell them?

1769 Words
The next day was a weekend. Nothing much was happening. They weren't called to the station or anything eventful. So, rather than lazing around in their rooms, they decided to accompany Daexoen’s cousin, Vienna, to enroll herself in the academy. To be honest, the female didn’t actually need any help, but seeing the enthusiastic trio so willing to go with her, she couldn’t bear to break it to them. And it wasn’t as if the three were bad, she could use the company as well as have someone to help her find her way.  “I just need to talk with the principal.” she told them, as they made their way towards the principal’s office. “Uncle Brook had already called to inform them about my transfer. I just need to fill up some papers.”  Sage intervened, “As far as I remember, you just need to fill in some minor information forms,” she said. Daexoen raised an eyebrow, “That’s it?” he asked, vaguely remembering how hard it was for him to transfer.  His female friend nodded, “Yes. It isn’t as complicated.” The other then sighed, “You’re lucky you’re transferring as a high schooler. Believe me, the process isn’t as easy as trying to transfer to the college department.” Daexoen complained, recalling his past hardships trying to enter the academy. All the running and paperwork he needed to do before finally being able to get a slot in the school. Styx grinned, “What do you expect? College transfer is usually harder compared to high school.” he answered, throwing an arm around the other male.  Daexoen rudely shrugged the male’s arm away before sighing in defeat. As they reached the principal’s door, the three casually stood in the hall outside, leaving the youngest of them to tend to her needs on her own. The silence between them and the empty hallways was heavy, unsure what topic they should talk about or if there was anything to talk about in the matter.  “So…” Styx tried to initiate. “ What are we doing after this?”  Daexoen shrugged, “I honestly don’t know.”  “Well, what a perfect day to start,” Sage mumbled to herself.  On the contrary, this day wasn’t really planned out well between them. Daexoen just happened to let the other two know about his visit to the school to accompany his cousin. Shockingly, the two then decided to come as well. It was all in the span of an hour, so obviously there was nothing planned out for today. Just an impulsive decision made due to boredom. “Should we head out then?” Styx suggested, seeing as no one wanted to stay at home alone today. “I’m sure we could make use of the day for something.”  Daexoen nodded, “Sure. Better than doing nothing anyway.”  “I’m okay with anything.” Sage said, leaning on the brick wall almost asleep. The two males looked at her worriedly, “Did you sleep? You look like you’re tired.” Daexoen asked her.  “I did. I’m just out of it today,” she confessed, fixing her posture to lean in better.  Their conversation was cut when the door of the office finally opened, revealing a grinning female who was now holding up her class schedule and requirements. She enthusiastically approached the three older students.  “I got into the same class as my best friend!” She excitedly said, waving the piece of paper in front of her cousin.  The males chuckled at her ecstatic response to her schedule. Deciding on a place to eat, the three listened as the youngest female talked non stop about her day, or the day she left the US , or the things and events that happened to her she felt were worth mentioning.  On the way out of the campus, they happen to bump into two of the council members, specifically Scath and Than. The two were doing their duties seeing that the camp was canceled; it wasn't a shocker to find the council members present on the campus even during the two days of the weekend.  The two approached the group, “Oh, fancy meeting you three here on a weekend,” Scath partially teased, grinning at the irritated looks the two males gave him. “What are you doing here?” He directly asked his childhood friend.  “Dae’s cousin is transferring,” she said, pointing towards the other female. “We went with them.” Scath’s eyebrows raised, partially shocked at the female’s words, “Really? Why?”  The other shrugged, “The house was boring,” she answered, unaware of the other’s surprised expression.  “Do you have a problem with that?” Daexoen asked, seeing the bewildered look on the other’s face.  Hearing this, the council secretary instantly shook his head, “No. No. Not at all,” he denied the accusation. “However, I am surprised you were able to leave the house. You’ve changed,” he told Sage, giving her a proud smile.  The latter tilts her head, unsure of how to reply, “I guess.”  “Ehem! Hi?” The group’s attention now shifted towards the youngest female. “I’ve been waiting for an introduction, just so you know,” she sarcastically told them.  “Oh, right. This is Vienna. Dae’s cousin” Styx, took the initiative to introduce them, seeing as the other two were not in the mood to do so. “Vien. This is Scath and Than. They are part of the student council.” Scratch gave her a warm smile before extending a hand, “Nice to meet you. I’m the council’s secretary. Feel free to ask any help from me.” he greeted her. Vienna smiled at him before accepting his hand shake, “Vienna! It’s nice to meet you too.” she then turns towards the other male, however, unlike Scath she gives a slight frown.  There was something odd about this person. She honestly couldn't feel any warmth around him. He was giving off a cold and aggressive aura that was too strong for her liking. However, she shrugged it off, it wasn’t really a great way to start with someone new, especially someone older and has authorization in the school.  She turned the frown on her face into an upward fold before extending her hand, “Vienna,” she casually said. The latter accepted her handshake, “Than. The council vice-president,” he answered coldly.  The atmosphere was now turning a bit heavy as they both let go of each other’s hand. It was the first for them to see the youngest female turn a bit solemn. She was usually so energetic when meeting new people. However, they chose to ignore the slight detail, thinking it might have been the influence of Than’s gloomy aura.  “We should get going, or else Margaux will chew our heads off,” Scratch said, dragging his member away from them while waving enthusiastically as well. “I’ll visit when I can, Sage.” He suddenly cried out before disappearing from their sight. The two males looked at each other, “I really don’t like him,” Styx whispered, earning an agreeing nod from the other male.  “Who?” Sage asked, hearing the supposed private conversation between the two.  They shook their heads, “No one.” They answered in unison. “Let’s get going?” Daexoen asked.  Before they could continue their walk, Vienna held them back for a moment, “Sorry guys, My friend just texted me. She needed to come to the campus today and asked if I could meet up with her. I can’t come with you.” she said, feeling a bit guilty about her departure from the group for the time being.  “It’s fine. But be home before dinner” Daeoxen said, assuring his cousin they weren’t as upset as she might think they'd be.  “I’m really sorry for leaving, especially when I’m the reason you all came here,” she said to them.  Styx smiled, placing an arm around her, “Hey, we came here because we wanted you. Don’t worry about it.” “We’ll be fine.” Sage then said.  After the words of encouragement and reassurance, the youngest ran off towards the other side of the direction they were supposed to be heading. They both agreed to meet at her friend’s classroom, which she needed to look for first, but it was something she could handle on her own. The trio stood there silently agreeing to go to the place they knew would be comfortable for them. The place where anyone would find them if they looked for them outside of their homes and the campus.  “Well, isn’t my three favorite customers!” The owner exclaimed, seeing the three enter the cafe.  The three greeted him brightly, “Just the usual, uncle” Daexoen said.  The owner nodded before instructing one of his employees to prepare their food, “You’ll wait? Here’s the keys, by the way.” Greg said, handing Daexoen the keys to the room.  Styx chuckled, “Aren’t you getting too used to us, “ he joked, making the latter laugh.  “Honestly, I’m more comfortable having you here than knowing you’ll be elsewhere. Your uncle and father will be too, ” he confessed to them before turning towards the female, "I'm sure even your guardians." The three realized that the owner was seemingly like the two agents. Worried and looking out for them the best way he knows how. Even though he had to remodel the spare room, and had to give one of his personal places to a bunch of teens, he gladly did so if it meant getting them a safer hangout space. As soon as their foods and beverages were handed to them, the trio mindlessly made their way towards their private room. The three teens placed their food on the table in the middle of the room before seating themselves. They quietly started digesting their food, each having a world of their own. Daexoen was busy playing games on his phone, Styx was also busy with some work he had for his club on his laptop and Sage was peacefully reading a book.  However, the peaceful silence didn’t last long when Daexoen suddenly decided to ask the avoided question.  “Are we going to tell them?” He asked the two, who looked at him before each other.
