"What do you mean?! Where would he go?!" Agent Brook exclaimed.
The two other agents with him looked at him in shock. Brook had just gotten a call from the other male student, and as soon as he picked the phone up he could immediately hear the panic and fear from his nephew’s friend’s voice. He instantly questioned the male, gaining the most unwanted reply he could ever want.
The agent turned pale, “What’s wrong, Brook? What happened?” Agent Kleio started to panic as well, anxious about his own cluelessness in the situation.
Agent Dionne couldn’t help but grab agent Brook’s phone, putting the male student on speaker, “Styx, what’s wrong?”
Styx, on the other hand, is still panicking, talking to the agent, “We haven’t seen him since lunch,” he informed the agent. “His classmates and teacher said, except for his first period, he wasn’t in any of his afternoon classes.”
Agent Brook starts to panic, as well as the two other agents. Thoughts and situations ran through Agent Brook’s mind because of this. He didn’t know how to react, while Agent Kleio stood there silently stunned.
Agent Dionne took over the call, “Where’s Sage? Is she with you?” she asked the male.
Styx went quiet, “She’s safe,” he told her, looking at the younger female from the distance.
Although Styx was a bit upset, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t care about the female. She was still one of his best friends, but because of their little argument Styx couldn’t help but feel the need to leave her alone.
“Styx,” his father called to him. “We’ll be there in a few minutes. Wait for us at the front gate.” he said before ending the phone call.
Styx sighed when he felt someone suddenly grab his arm, expecting it to be Sage. He was shocked to see Vienna in front of him instead. “What the hell was that, Styx?!” She yelled at him.
Styx looked at her irritated, “About what?!” his tone raised in frustration.
“Why the hell were you blaming Sage!?” she yelled back, pushing the male. “She has nothing to do with this!”
Styx’s temper mellowed, “I’m not blaming her,” he said softly. “I’m just upset.”
It was true, he would never blame his best friend. But the situation just made him frustrated, and seeing the calm and eased look on the female’s face made him even more irritated. The thought of their friend being in serious danger and she felt nothing about that is infuriating.
Vienna looked at him in disbelief, “Are you kidding me?!” she exclaimed. “You’re upset? About what?” She couldn’t help but yell.
Styx stood silent, “That she’s unable to express her true emotions?!” Vienna asked, unable to hold herself. “You of all people should understand why!”
Styx felt a pang in his chest hearing that. He lowered his head, making the female in front of him scoff.
“What? Realized what a jerk you were? Styx, I might not have known her for a long time, but based on Dae’s description, she’s not the type of person to just react naturally!” The high schooler continued to rant. “Dae’s been telling me how happy he was, Sage is finally slowly opening up to the two of you, but what you did just discredit everything she did.”
He felt guilt washing over him as he recalled all the times the female was so hesitant to open up to them. How she was just slowly coming out of her shell and he just did that.
He looked up at his female friend “I–” he cut off his sentence, his eyes widened when he realized the other female was no longer there. “Vienna, where’s Sage?”
Vienna looked back, her eyes now equally widened, seeing that the other female was now missing. She ran to where the female was previously seen, roaming her eyes in search for the lost girl, but she was nowhere to be found.
“What are we going to do?” Vienna asked Styx.
The male was about to open his mouth when he received a call from his father saying they were already outside of the school.
He sighed, “The three agents are here,” he informed the female. “Let’s go, we might be able to find both of them with their help,” he said, running towards the exit of the building, texting his father to meet them at the college department entrance.
Meanwhile, Daexoen was close to banging his head on the wall. It had been like 5 hours since he'd been trapped and until now no one seemed to notice he was there. He stood up, walking around the storage room one more time to see if there was something he could do, but there was just nothing.
The room was filled with costumes and other props. Daexoen concluded this was the theater club’s storage room. Unfortunately, there isn’t anything useful he could use. The window was a tad higher but the thought of him being on the fourth floor was more than enough for him to discard the idea of using the window.
“Come on, guys. I’m right here,” he whispered to himself, thinking about his two friends.
He was sure they were worried. After everything that they’ve been through and witnessed, then knowing one of them was gone would immediately panic the other two. He mentally laughed at himself. Between the three of them, he was the most vocal about the dangers they might encounter and how they should be more vigilant. And now he’s here, the first one of the three to get trapped. However, his pitiness wasn’t what he was worried about, but how the two would have felt at the moment. He was afraid one of them might do something drastic to look for him.
He leaned on the door, his forehead placed on it as he whispered, “I’m fine, just look for me.”
On the other hand, Styx and Vienna had now met up with the three agents, “Styx! Thank God,” Agent Kleio exclaimed, embracing his son in a tight hug.
“Vienna!” Agent Brook exclaimed, grabbing onto the female. “I’m glad you’re with Styx.”
However, Agent Dionne couldn’t help but look behind the two, waiting for the appearance of the cold and dense female, but there was no one.
“Styx,” She called out to the teen male, “Where’s Sage? I thought you said she was with you.”
Styx lowered his head while scratching the back of his neck. Vienna pulled away from her uncle, looking at how nervousness and guilt washed on the male.
“We lost her as well,” he admitted.
The three agents instantly focused their attention on her, “What!?” They simultaneously said.
“What do you mean you lost her?” Agent Dionne raised her tone. “You were just together when we called!”
The two teens stayed quiet. Immediately, the two male agents sensed something was wrong. “What happened?” Agent Kleio asked his son.
Styx lowered his head, “We had an argument,” he confessed, shocking the three.
Before Agent Dionne could ask anymore, she was stopped by Agent Brook, “Stop. Let’s not blame one another,” he said, attempting to calm everyone down.
“We need to find both Daexoen and Sage.” Agent Kleio said, before gathering everyone. “We need to thoroughly check around the school before we conclude he’s actually kidnapped.”
The others nodded, “Better if we separate, Me and Agent Kleio will look on the first and second floors,” Agent Brook started to distribute assignments. “You three can look on the third and fourth floors.”
With everyone’s agreement, the group dispersed, looking for the lost duo. Guilt and worry ate Styx as he ran up the stairs of the college building.
Daexoen was still sitting on the floor, back laid onto the door of the room. However, his head immediately perked up as he started to hear faint noises from the other side of the room.
“Hello?” He heard a faint call. His heart felt like it was about to explode, he felt as if everything he'd been worried about disappeared.
He stood up and started to bang on the door, “I’m–” his voice cracked, sore from all the previous yelling he did. “I’m here!” He yelled once more, giving everything he had.
After a few minutes, there was nothing but silence. His heart felt like sinking, he couldn’t help but think that the person who called had already left. Leaving him to his misery.
And before he could even begin to sulk in the corner, he noticed the door knob slowly turning. He stood in front of the door with a defensive stance. His guard was up, not knowing who the person on the other side could be. It was either someone who would save him or the one behind this.
When the door opened, revealing who it was, Daexoen stood there in shock, “You’re here.”
