Unknown: Good on you for taking my advice. Now I want you to leave him alone! You can't have him! BACK OFF SLUT
The female just shook her head as she read the death threat she just received. She's been receiving these text messages the moment she left her house.
By the time she arrived at the campus, it was still a bit early, so she decided to just sit at a nearby bench by the school's gate. She decided to wait for the two guys rather than heading to the cafeteria first.
She noticed the guardhouse beside the main gate. There wasn't any other exit in the school other than the main gate since it was easier for the school to monitor the students. She decided to talk to the guard hoping to get at least a bit of information.
"Excuse me, Good morning" she greeted.
The campus security looked at her with a warm smile, "Yes? Something I could help you with?" he asked her.
"I just want to ask you, were you on duty yesterday?"
The security nodded before answering, "Of course, My shift is usually at 6 in the morning until 10 then I'm back by 2 until 6."
"Do you happen to know the Student council president?" Sage decided it was best to get straight to the point."Can you tell me about her attitude?" she added.
The guard looked at her for a moment before asking, "Are you talking about Margaux?" He asked, trying to figure out who she was referring to. "She's a good kid. She would always greet us when she arrives as well as when she leaves. She's also a good president to the students but I can't help but notice she's not quite herself these past few days." After nodding at his previous question, the security enthusiastically told her.
"I see. Do you know what time Ms. President left the school yesterday?"
"As I remembered she went home earlier than when classes ended. Maybe around 2:30? She said something happened to her uncle, so she was granted permission to leave." he tried to recall.
The younger started to get confused, "Is that so? Did she tell you where she was going?"
"She said she was going home. Her house was far from here, but I don't know where exactly."
Sage kept her head low, she was a little disappointed that she didn't get as much information as she hoped, at the same time she was confused on why the student left by 2 but was with them in the art room by 3.
"But" She looked back up to the guard as he started to say something again.
He was holding his chin and wrinkled his forehead, trying to remember the events yesterday, "I remembered she left by car but by the time she left it wasn't even 15 minutes when she suddenly went back in the school on foot." He suddenly said.
"Did she leave yesterday during lunchtime as well?" She asked.
"As I remembered she did. She was almost late to her classes" The female gave a slow nod as she tried to process the information given to her.
Because of their conversation, both failed to sense the two presence behind the female. "Sage" She turned around to see the two guys standing behind her, both curious to know why she was there.
"Thank you for answering my questions. Have a nice day" she politely thanked.
the security guard gave her a sweet smile, "Not a problem. But if you don't mind me asking, why did you ask about her?"
"We're part of the journalist club, we thought that she would be great for our feature story". Daexoen said. Even though he didn't fully understand the situation he quickly caught up to the possible interaction between the two.
Styx nodded, agreeing to the other to convince the security. "Thanks again, We'll head out first," he said as they then started to leave the main gate to the cafeteria.
In the middle of their silent walk Sage decided to initiate the conversation, "That's weird, the guard said she left the school in a car at around 2:30 but within a time frame of 15 minutes, she went back on foot. I also found out that she lives far from the school, it could be that she lives at Highstein if she does then that makes sense of why she was there."
Daexoen and Styx nodded at the female's hypothesis, "Yeah, but the question of how she was there already just minutes passed when we saw her in school is still a mystery. I think we should go ask Kylie about something." Daexoen suggested
The youngest looked at him confused, "Ask what? We're not heading to the cafeteria instead?" She asked.
"I mean why don't we ask Kylie for more information, we could ask her to confirm whether or not she does live there. We can finish the tracking at lunch" Daexoen said.
"Wait, who's Kylie?" Styx suddenly asked
"She's the one that asked for our help" Sage answered.
"The president's best friend" Daexoen added
The trio made their way to the Engineering department. Luckily, they did succeed in searching for the other's room, with a little help from the other students of course. They might not admit it, but all three of them weren't really the best at directions.
They knocked on the door, who were then greeted by a student, "Uh. excuse me, is Kylie here?" Daexoen asked a student.
The student seemed to recognize the two and immediately called out to her classmate, "Kylie! Someone's looking for you!" she yells before greeting them and left.
"Hey, oh you have company." She said as she noticed the new face in their 'group' "I'm Kylie Nice to meet you." She introduced herself.
"Styx," he answered.
She smiled at him,"Hi, so what brought you here? And how did you know I'd be here?" Kylie asked.
"When we were talking I saw your notes, instantly figured you were in chemical engineering," Daexoen said. "And we're here to ask if you've noticed anything strange about Margaux."
Having mentioned the president's name the older female instantly gave a sad expression. "She has become a little distant now. She wouldn't want me to visit and she would turn down our invitation to hangout." she said, pained at their sudden coldness.
Without a moment to waste, "Does she by any chance live at Highstein?" Styx asked.
She was surprised to hear this question from him, "She does live at Highstein! It's really far from here, it takes her about 2 hrs to travel."
The trio looked at each other giving a knowing nod to one another. At least they've got one thing figured out, but that wasn't exactly enough to puzzle the pieces together.
Sage then recalled a certain time, "I see, does she perhaps have eye problems? I noticed her wearing glasses."
The older nod, "Yup, she has quite high-grade lenses. She has had them since we were in Elementary."
Without any more questions they decided to leave. "Thanks, Kylie. We'll be at the main cafeteria at lunchtime. If something happens you could look for us there" Daexoen said.
The other nodded."Sure thanks again." Before the trio left Kylie couldn't help but give off another question, "You will find out what's happening to her right?" Unfortunately, she only received silence from the trio.
They decided to leave after getting the information they needed, however it turns out that luck is by their side. They suddenly bumped into the president who was carrying a bunch of art supplies.
"Oh? Why are you guys here?" She asked.
Daexoen was the one to answer, "We were just passing by."
The older female noticed the other member of their trio, "Oh, you have company? Hi I'm Margaux."
They looked at each other confused at the sudden introduction of the other. They were pretty sure she would know who he was. But it looked like she was definitely clueless about the boy's identity.
Styx raised his eyebrow, "I introduced myself yesterday at the club, remember? I'm Styx."
The president's eye grew a bit bigger and her body started to step back a little. "Oh, uh, Right! It must have slipped my mind. I'm sorry." she tried to hide her discomfort. But the nervous stutter and frightened expression didn't go unnoticed by the three. This has gotten more confusing.
"I have to go, oh wait. On second thought, could you guys help me bring this to the art club? I really can't handle this alone."
"Sure" Daexoen agreed, earning a small death glare from Sage.
They made their way to the art club. They were all confused at the sudden behavior of the president. It was far different from the one that they encountered yesterday.
They entered the club room and Mr. Myers was there as well. They placed the things they were holding near a table and just looked at the two other people who were currently fixing and organizing the room.
But the three once again looked at each other with pure confusion as they watched how the president and the teacher were working in the room together. The president wasn't even giving a single gaze at the teacher unless they needed to interact with each other.
Honestly, it was the exact opposite, the teacher was the one who kept giving secret looks at the student. This scene was far different from yesterday.
"Uh We'll go ahead" Sage finally said.
Giving half of her attention towards the three, she smiled and answered, "Oh yes, Thanks again for your help"
They left the building with questions lingering in their heads. To be honest, Styx felt like the only thing he's been losing since this project was his patience and brain cells.
"This is frustrating! I don't understand anything that's happening" Styx suddenly burst.
They sighed,, "You're not the only one. Look, let's just attend our classes and let's meet at the main cafeteria" Sage suggested before attempting to leave the two to go to her department.
However before leaving, Sage decided to look at the two with a gentle smile "And hey, I don't know if this is the right thing to say but I think I'm quite fond of this group" She suddenly said, catching the two boys off guard. "I've grown fond of your presence. I would appreciate it if you'll stay a little longer." She added, before leaving the two with mouths wide open and faces flushed with shock and confusion.
"What? What just happened?" Styx suddenly asked, pointing towards the direction the younger left off to.
"I guess" Daexoen paused and looked at the female who was walking farther and farther away from them until she was no longer visible from the two before he continued his sentence
"I guess it was her way of saying we're her friends"
