The days passed by quickly and all of a sudden it was now Friday, the day of their camping trip. And like the conversation Agent Brook had with Hyuna, Sage was seated in the back seat of the agent's car as they made their way to the academy.
“I’m really sorry for this inconvenience, Agent," Sage said.
The agent took a short glimpse of the female before smiling, "Not a problem. You're Daexoen's friend, it's the least I could do," he answered.
Daexoen turned around, facing the female, "Do you think we could convince the teachers to get all three of us on the same bus?" Daexoen asked.
Sage looked at him curiously, "Why do we need to be on the same bus?" she asked.
"Can't we just be on the same bus? Why? Don't you want us together?" Daexoen playfully acted upset.
"No, it's just." She paused before giving up on the argument. "Let's just ask the teacher if it's possible."
Daexoen gave a victorious grin before changing the topic of the conversation. However, the two failed to notice the questioning stares of the agent they were with. Frankly, he doesn't quite know how to feel or react to the situation right now. He raised an eyebrow at the interaction between the two yet decided to exclude himself out of whatever there was between them. With a defeated sigh, he resulted in changing the topic between the three of them.
“So, what’s the purpose of this ‘camp’ again?” He asked, resulting in a quick end to the two’s previous conversation.
“I heard it was for graduating high school students. It’s like a judging camp? I don’t really know but they said it was something like that, but I think it was graded,” Sage answered.
“They told me it was like physical and mental training, they monitor the intelligence of students that they are not familiar with, and also the teamwork and dedication of the students. I really don’t understand either,” Daexoen added.
The agent nodded before giving a quick glance at his nephew, “And why are you joining? I vividly remember you were in college.” He asked his nephew.
The other shrugged, “Because they said I’m a transfer student, they needed an extra activity for me as well as all the students at Deviox undergo this camp before going to their college or something,” Daexoen answered.
The agent raised an eyebrow, “So it’s like an initiation? Before going to college in Deviox?” He asked.
The boy shrugged, “Maybe” he answered before looking back at the female. “How come you didn’t know about this?” He asked the youngest.
“I never really cared.” She calmly said.
Seeing that the youngest wouldn’t add to her sentence, Agent Brook continued to ask questions, “And Styx?”
“Apparently he’s in the social studies club,” his nephew amusingly said.
“Weird club for a guy who likes technology,” Sage suddenly added.
The moment they arrived at the campus, they instantly found their other friend together with his father. At the looks of it, the other was giving an annoyed and frustrated expression as his father continued to rant at his son. The other two could help but smile at their eldest’s suffering. They could’ve sworn they saw stars in his eyes the moment he noticed them.
“Listen here, you three. If anything happens, call us. Don’t go off on your own again. Because the last thing we want is to receive a call from your teachers saying you got hurt again.” Agent Brook told them before they left.
Agent Kleio points at them, “One trip to the hospital was enough.”
The three couldn’t help but slump their shoulders at the agents’ scolding. “We get it. Honestly, aren’t you tired of the same old scolding? We won’t do it again.” Styx grumply told them.
“We’re not 7, you don’t need to remind us.” Daexoen added.
However, the two agents seemed to be determined to get them to understand their perspective on this. People were looking at them weirdly, it wasn’t normal to have 3 students their age to be constantly reminded of such things. But you can’t really blame the two agents. With the previous events that happened, the two never mentioned it but it was traumatizing seeing them unconscious.
Seeing the relentless expression of the agents, Sage spoke up, “We’ll call.” She suddenly answered. “We don’t want that to happen again either. That’s why we’ll call.” she assured them.
The two sighed in relief, “If that’s the case, then we’ll leave. Take care, alright?” Agent Kleio said before dragging agent Brook.
“Finally!” Styx exclaimed after the two left. “Dad has been nagging ever since we left the house. It was even worse than when he found out about the club.” He ranted to them.
Daexoen couldn’t help but laugh, “Lost your card?” He teased, earning a depressive grunt for the other.
“Won’t be getting it back in the next month,” he said.
Laughing at his friend’s misery, Daexoen seemed to remember a particular detail. “Hey, you think we could go on the same bus?” He asked the eldest.
Styx shrugged, “I don’t know. Maybe,” He answered. “Oh, there’s Ms. Jennica. Let’s ask her.”
“Excuse us, Ms. Jennica. We were wondering if we could ride on the same bus together.” Daexoen initiated the conversation as soon as they approached the teacher.
The teacher smiled at them, “Thank God! We were actually supposed to ask the students if there were any who could go with the student council. They happened to notice a miscalculation with the seats on the bus.” She enthusiastically said and pointed towards the first bus. “You could ride there. I need to look for more students.” The teacher said before leaving them.
The three then got on the bus. Daexoen was leading them, followed by Sage and then Styx. The three were welcomed with warm and friendly smiles and greetings from the members.
“Sage? You’re riding with us? You can sit be-“ Before Scath could even finish his sentence his vision was blocked by Daexoen, looking at him coldly.
“Sage, let’s sit at the back together.” The latter said, practically dragging the youngest towards the three seated row at the back portion of the bus.
Sage mindlessly followed the older, “Can I take the window seat? I get motion sickness.” She asked the two.
“Sure, I’ll take the aisle.” Styx said.
The trio settled in their seats. Sage by the window and Styx by the aisle seat and Daexoen between them. The two boys were practically guarding the youngest, who was now mindlessly staring out the window.
Seeing the three’s set up, the council members couldn’t help but gossip, “Well, aren’t the princes protective.” Keios jokes.
The other members laughed at him before talking amongst themselves again.
“Did you say something?” Fenice asked her seatmate, Scath.
The latter shook his head, “Nope. Think you might be hearing something." He said before looking at the trio.
A few hours after their journey, they finally reach Gregson camp area. They would usually have the camp or other school activities in a different location but the owner of the current campsite was the father of one of the students of Deviox. Therefore, the school gratefully accepted the offer made by the parents, especially as they were promised to have an expense-free stay in the campsite, even with preparations the school had nothing to worry about.
The place was indeed spacious. There were a total of five houses that students and teachers could use and there was a bigger building for their lunch hall. The place was also in the middle of the forest, making it secluded and peaceful for their activities.
The students were gathered in the open field, right in front of the houses, for further instructions. They were each handed a piece of paper.
"Welcome to Gregson, students. Now, those papers you're holding contain your house number, groupmates as well as scheduled activities for the upcoming days." She instructed as she held out one of the papers. "Now remember, this place is in the middle of the forest. Do not go wandering out and about without a teacher knowing. We were informed of various traps and dangerous animals wandering as well. So do be careful," she reminded everyone before letting them go to their prospective houses.
“So it’s not a camp with tents? But with a house? So we're not actually camping?” Daexoen curiously asked.
The other shrugged at his question, “To make sure the students are comfortable during the activities? I really have no idea." Sage said.
While the two were busy talking, Styx took their respective papers. Unfortunately, they were each placed in different houses and group mates.
Seeing the solemn face the other male had, Daexoen comfortingly placed his hand on the other's shoulder. "Guess you can't have everything." Daexoen said before turning towards Sage, who was now fixing her luggage.
"Sage, need help carrying your things?" He asked her.
"We could carry it if you want," Styx added, attempting to grab the youngest's things.
However, the female instantly pulled away her bag, “No I’m fine, I’ll see you boys later.” She said before making her way towards her designated house.
The two just looked at her and then each other, silently agreeing to leave as well.
"I hope nothing wrong happens this time." Styx quietly mumbled, loud enough for Daexoen to hear.
"Me too." Daexoen replied, parting ways with the older.
Once again, the trio failed to notice a pair of eyes watching their every move. From the time they got off the bus until they parted ways, he was there.
"Hi" He looked at the female beside him, enthusiastically displaying herself. "I’m Lexie, And I like you." She confessed.
The man looked at her coldly, “I’m not interested." He said, walking past the female.
“Wait! I’m sure you’ll like me when we get to know each other." The female seductively said, touching the male's biceps and giving off a flirtatious look.
She was indeed pretty, but her looks couldn't compare to the woman he set his heart on. However, the man couldn't pass up an opportunity. One that could help him in his little Love note.
The man gave her a flirty grin, “Fine. I’ll meet you later tonight at 10 in the abandoned warehouse," he whispered seductively.
The female looked at him puzzled, "There's an abandoned warehouse here?"
The male nodded, "A but far back from the houses. But if you don't want to, it's fine."
The female instantly gave a pathetic pout, "I was just asking," She said, trying her best to act upset. "But of course I'll be there," She added.
The man grinned, "Great. But don't tell anyone. We wouldn't want to get caught, do we?" he flirted back.
“Of course” the female answered, blowing a kiss at the male before leaving.
"Girls are indeed pathetic. They're all the same, easily toyed with, easily manipulated." He thought to himself. "All except one." He added after seeing a particular female student stepping out of her assigned house to meet her friends, walking close in front of him, yet she couldn't seem to see him.
"You'll be mine. We're meant to be together. Just a bit more time." He thought to himself.
"Sage! Let's check out the lunch menu. I'm starving," He heard one of the guys say.
