Chapter 11

Has your dad seen it yet? Adrien's Pov My fingers again tightened harder on the wheel hating that Roxy wasn't wrong. I'd known exactly who June Carter was before she ever walked into my club. I just hadn't let the guys or Roxy know that. The first time I'd seen her wasn't at the club but when my father had left his phone on the bed while he was in the bathroom. I was going to drop some files he requested until I saw a picture opened on his phone screen. Lena stood between a girl with striking blue eyes and a little boy, all three of them smiling at the camera. "That's Lena and her kids," my father had said as soon as he walked back into the room. "They'll be moving in soon with us, what do you think." "I think it's a mistake. "I'd responded taking my gaze away from his phone screen. It wasn't the first time he'd spoken about Lena and her family. For weeks, he'd found one reason or another to bring them up. She was kind and all. She was different. He'd met her online on HeartLink, an online chat community. They started exchanging messages, then calls, and somewhere along the way he fell for her. I'd listened to every word without taking any of it seriously. I figured it was another woman. Another relationship that would burn itself out in a few days, until in a week later he'd actually wanted me to welcome them into the house. Then I'd caught a glimpse of her through the bedroom mirror when I had Roxy splayed out while I had my d**k buried deep inside her with Roxy moans filling my room like the filthy little hedonist she was, pushing up against me. She hadn't looked much different from the picture I'd seen, only older. She'd stood frozen outside my half-open door, her lips parted, cheeks flushed, and her blue eyes locked on my ass while I was driving into Roxy. I couldn't hid it then. The resemblance. The same innocent look my ex girlfriend Talia had with arousing heat, which made my d**k in turn twitched angryly inside Roxy at the sight. And I f****d Roxy after that. Ruthlessly. Then finally at the club a few minutes later, one of the guys at the club made mentioned of some ugly duckling from Beacon Hills who moved here, who some i***t dated for months just because of a bet. One of them knew the guy, apparently he was his cousin who also moved here a weeks back for the summer holiday. Then someone suggested making another bet out of it. “Seduce the ugly duckling. f**k her. Record it. Drop her cold and humiliate her. Then the crew is yours to command for a year.” I'd sayed there listening without saying much until Roxy brought her in. She turned out to be Lena’s daughter. My soon-to-be stepsister, whose mother was about to ruin my family again. I couldn't have cared less about the bet. But the bet somehow solved a problem. Ruin Lena’s perfect little family before it could sink its claws into mine. Seduce her precious daughter, shatter her, expose it all. Prove to my father that these women were exactly what I knew them to be......liars, cheats, opportunists. Just like my mother, spreading her legs for another man while pretending to love us, producing a bastard child on the side and expecting me to swallow the betrayal with a smile. Roxy seemed to understand me better, coming up with the bet, She was one of the few people who knew what had happened with my mother. She too had been through her own kind of hell. Her father abandoning her and her mother while she was still battling an illness, leaving Roxy to watch the woman who raised her slowly fall apart. She knew where my hatred came from, why I couldn't stand the thought of my father bringing another woman into our lives, and unlike everyone else, she never tried to change my mind. If anything, she fed it understanding my darkness without asking questions. That's why I'd used June and f****d her. Now... I had exactly what I'd wanted to ruin this whole marriage thing. The videos I'd had recorded. One click and I could show my father. One click and his wedding would be over. But now I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I hated myself for it. I hated that I'd actually couldn't go through with it. But June had done nothing to me. She was innocent. She wasn't the one who cheated on my father. She wasn't the one who tore my family apart. I couldn't destroy another innocent person just because my mother couldn't keep her legs closed. Though I still hated the idea of my father marrying Lena. I still believed it was a mistake. I pulled out of the driveway into the road. "So..." Roxy said excitedly. "Has your dad seen it yet?" I frowned immediately. "Seen what Roxy?" "Don't play dumb Adrien. The s*x tape. You and his future stepdaughter." My grip tightened on the steering wheel. "No." "You're kidding right." "No." "After everything we did to make this happen?" I let out a low breath, pinching the bridge of my nose. "There was never a 'we' Roxy. I never asked you to get involved, I had it handled. Everything you did, you chose to do.. you know I don't tolerate people interfering in my affairs. I overlooked it because your little plan happened to serve my purpose. And let's not pretend you did it out of loyalty. I know you, Roxy. You never do anything unless there's something in it for you." She let out a quiet scoff. "So that's it? You're going to throw everything away because you saw those big blue puppy eyes of hers and suddenly grew a conscience?" she responded ignoring my remark completely. "This has nothing to do with guilt Roxy." "Yes? Excertly. But why are you throwing away the easiest way to stop your father's wedding." I stared at the road ahead. Because I am not going to play an innocent girl just because my mother couldn't stay faithful. "Because she's not the one I have a problem with." Roxy was silent for a moment before responding lazily over the other end. "Whatever. I mean ....if ...you aren't going to use the video then ....why is it sitting in the pit's members group chat?" My foot came off the accelerator before I quickly regained control of the car. "What?"
