I stared at my mother, trying to process her words. "The true heir?" I echoed, my mind racing.
Gabby’s gaze hardened, her eyes sharp as she looked at me. “Yes, Zara. The bloodline of your father runs through him.”

“Mom, you said Hilda is the true heir. What does that mean? Hilda’s father is Kaden, the Alpha,” I said, my voice shaking as I held the baby close to my chest.
I stared at her, confusion swirling in my mind. “How does this relate? Hilda is Kaden’s son. Why are you saying this?”
