Her words hit me harder than I wanted to admit. She wasn’t just some woman. She was the Alpha now , since her husband Kaden left the castle, she had assumed the role with my help, but what she did not know was that I could bring her down in minutes.
She calculating, clever. And her eyes were filled with something I couldn’t quite place. Fear? Determination? Or maybe... just maybe, she knew something I didn’t.
“You don’t understand what you’re dealing with,” I said, trying to regain my composure. “You think you know me, Zara. You think you can stop me. I’ve made my decision.”
Zara took a step forward, her voice low and steady. “Then you’re a fool. You’re walking into a trap, and you don’t even know it.”
I scoffed, but the chill creeping up my spine told me she was right.
