CHAPTER 2~

RITALIN

"Oh my goodness the city's so beautiful." Sasha said, smiling at James as I winked at him. I already knew she likes him but I can't tell for sure if James likes her.

He's a Lord after all and Lord's are meant to marry ladies. I took my mind off that and focused on looking around.

Just like Sasha said,king strudels kingdom is really beautiful and nice.

"Sasha try not to falter in your acting skills. Try as much as possible to be fluent in your speech." James warned as she nodded obediently.

"Of course. I'll try." She replied as we dismounted our horses and waited for the palace guards to usher us in.

"What a pleasant surprise for the most prestigious princess to visit my peaceful abode." King strudel said, his eyes filled with warmth as he kissed the back of Sasha's hand.

"The pleasure is mine your highness. You see father wanted to accompany me but I had to refuse. He's still so over protective of me." She replied and a look of hurt flashed in his eyes.

"Henry,show them to the guests chamber. You're welcome to stay as long as you wish." He replied as the guards ushered us to the chamber.

"Nice work Sasha." James complemented after making sure we were alone.

"Sasha all you have to do is keep the king occupied. You can seduce__"

"Rita are you out of your mind? You'd advise her to seduce the king? To use her body wantonly?" James asked as I closed my eyes.

"Am sorry for such suggestions. Forgive me." I replied as she nodded. Just make sure to distract him while I study every nook and cranny of the kingdom."

DIANE

I was really furious after the king sent me out of his library. I'd thought being his mistress was a huge privilege to knowing so many things about his children and his life but no!

I pushed the things on my dressing table to the floor as my maid moved backwards.

"Mistress are you okay?" Kira asked fearfully but I ignored her. She has no right to know if am okay or not.

"Get out." I said dryly before walking over to my bed. I have to inform father that becoming the king's mistress was just a mistake.

He'd thought I'd be able to know the king's secret but no! The old man is as secretive as any other person.

After writing the letter,I whistled the messenger bird and attached the paper to it before letting it fly away.

I shouldn't have seduced the king and lure him into making me his mistress. What have I done?

Allan is going to be mad at me. For sure.....

COLLINS

The carriage saddled into the kingdom where I was born. A place where I visited last two years back. "My Lord you may exit the carriage." Hampton the door man said as I made my way out of the carriage.

"It seems we have visitors. Who are they?" I asked as a guard looked around.

"I heard it's Lord Harrington's daughter. The one he never showed to anyone." He replied as I smiled.

"Wow. What a pleasant surprise. I'll have to see her myself." I replied and walked into the building as the people played several instruments in my honor....

Well that's what being a prince feels like....

COLLINS

As I made my way into the throne room, memories of the day I left came rushing back. If there's one thing I hate about my father, it's his generosity to strangers.

I remembered vividly well,it was on the eve of the annual festival for the virgins in the town and as the crowned prince,I was supposed to pick five mistresses proceeding the time I'd get married.

I was happy but at the same time I was helpless. Some years back, I'd saved the princess of Gamba kingdom and we got into an intimate relationship but her father and my father were mortal enemies and that put an abrupt end to our relationship.

I ruined the festival by disappearing on the eve of it. I rushed to gambo to talk sense into the king but of course, just like the saying goes 'royalties are a bunch of bull headed fellows' he threw me out without a backward glance and__

"All hail the prince." Zeruch announced in an uproar as I marched to meet father. "I see you've outgrown your weakness. Welcome back son." He said as I nodded.

"Thanks father. I heard we have visitors. Who's she?" I asked,not beating about the bush.

"Oh yes! The princess of Magna. Princess Sasha the one who has been hidden for__"

"All her life?" I cut in methodically as father nodded. "Yes. She'll be joining us later for dinner and for your welcome party." Father said as Zeruch escorted me to my chamber.

RITALIN

I sat on the chair, cleaning out the dirt in my arrow as James sat going through a book. "Guards don't sit James!" I shrieked but he only looked up before going back to his book.

"What's wrong with you? Do you__"

"What? Do you expect me to stay by her always? To watch her smile at__"

"Wait James,tell me. Are you jealous? Cause that's the only definition for what you are doing." I spat blatantly, glaring daggers at him.

"Am not jealous,far from it. We have a plan and am afraid Sasha would ruin it besides have you heard? Prince Collins is back." He retorted as I scoffed.

Of course I knew who Prince Collins is but we've never crossed paths. Just heard of him from father and some maidens.

"And what's that supposed to mean?" I asked before checking the clock.

"She's gullible. Likely to fall prey to his charms and__"

"James just do your part. I have to get her ready for dinner. The mission is about to begin." I said and picked my mask before sliding it on and walking out.

I walked passed some guards before getting to Sasha's chamber. I knocked once before pushing the door open.

She was already in a beautifully adorned dress with her tiara on her head and a beautiful cloak to match.

James is going to go crazy looking at her cause the sign of jealousy is so pure and clear.

"I hope you're not angry. I had to dress myself cause no matter what you're still the princess and am just a__"

"Don't say it. I've never seen you as a slave and trust me you're more than a slave to me." I whispered before a hard knock sounded through the door.

"Come on in." She replied as James made his way in. He stopped in his tracks and took his time, admiring Sasha before a smile crossed his face.

"Wh_what? You_ you don't like it?" Sasha asked as I sighed. She's so innocent and unexposed to even know when a man loves her.

"That's not it Sasha but anyways I'll leave you both to talk I need to be with the other maidens." I said and walked out of the chamber.
