When I pulled into the estate and parked up in front of the manor house Mum was already running down the steps before I was out of the car. The look of shock, surprise and happiness on her face made me feel guilty it was so long since I’d seen her.
‘Alright Mum?’ I said.
‘Fraiser! Why didn’t you tell me you were coming? I haven’t got your room ready. Ohh let me look at you’ she said taking my face in her hands then throwing her arms around me for the best Mum hug I didn’t even know I needed. ‘Come on, come inside then’ she said.
