Death or a second chance?

Sophia’s POV “You think you are now a saviour, huh?” His eyes dug into mine in search of only goodness knows what. I thought my eyes would fall out of their sockets that day. My tiny fingers drummed on his fist. In my head, I was defending myself and hurting his fist but I doubt if he felt anything. I’d always heard people say they see stars in the darkness, but I never believed it until it happened to me. Everything was plunged into darkness, or maybe my eyes were the issue. Tiny stars flew recklessly, and my head dropped like it had been banged on a wall. Aiden had finally released his grip on my neck. My mouth tasted like copper, probably the taste of my own blood. Ringing in my ears was all I could hear and then a sharp pain at the back of my head. I recalled how Aiden had tossed me to the wall, releasing his grip. That’s me, always the rejected piece everyone tossed it however they liked. “Why aren’t you healing?” I squinted my eyes open, beholding his huge figure, my jaw dropped alongside my heart. “Sir, she has a medical condition. That’s why she can’t heal like other werewolves.” I tilted my head, and on the left was an old woman dressed in a white cotton robe. He got me a nurse, after almost killing me? “Sir? Don't call me sir. It’s Lycan or My lord to you.”Aiden’s voice thundered, the nurse frightened, knelt before him and bowed. Heat bled from my face, my throat instantly dry, threatened at the name. “My apologies sir.. My lord.” “Now back to you,” His cold fingers pulled the weak skin on my chin. “You’re as good as dead. Filthy corpse.” He grunted. My jaw hurt like it had just been slammed with a hammer. Something heavy, yet low and brittle snapped in my neck the moment he wrung my chin sideways. My eyes felt heavy, slowly becoming a burden. I let out my emotions and sniveled at the way they fell down my cheeks freely. “I don’t have much time to wait. Whatever medical condition it is she has, won’t stop me from giving her the punishment she deserves.” His final words clung in, even more than his scent. My heart felt like the world had just been placed on it. My breathing hitched. The thought of how terrible Aiden’s punishments usually are made my head spin. The nurse stood there, her right hand pressed against her left hand in front of her bosom. She looked sorry for me. “I could help you escape.” She whispered. “Don’t cry, child.” Her gaze flickered at the door and back to me. My eyes lit up at her, swift to take the offer but then, I held back. I had to be sure she was trustworthy and not working for Aiden. It might be a loyalty test.
