Sophia’s POV
The instant I stepped into his room, everything felt different. His scent struck me like a punch to the chest. It was more like a dark spice and something dangerously familiar. As usual, his scent weakened my bones, awakening all nerves and sense organs in my body. Tilly, my wolf, stirred restlessly and I couldn't blame her. He was quite charming and exuding. I locked her down before she took the best of me. I wasn’t here to feel anything.
His room was slightly dark and airy but amazing. Perfect for his nature. I hit my lip softly, staring around before stealing a glance at his face. My heart slammed against my chest and I swallowed hard. He ignored me and picked up the dumbbells that were beside him, channeling all his concentration into each lift.
I watched for a moment, admiring his muscles contract on each forward movement. “I’m sure you have a reason for coming here.” He feigned.
“Is there another reason why you detest me so much?” I asked swiftly which was strange. I came prepared to beg, to kneel and plead with him if I had to buy instead I stood still without flinching.
He didn't answer, His fingers clenched to the weight which he swung like it was the only thing that stopped him from exploding in my face. His facial expression said it all and the silence stretched, loud, Bitter, and sharp. I stepped further towards where he sat and stood beside him. With my mouth parted to speak, he pushed with his gaze. “You rejected me?” He said with a cold laugh. It was meant to be funny but instead it was scary. “You dare try to reject a lycan like you're the one with the power here, right?” He roared.
His voice was cold yet it felt warm and pleasant to me. “I decided to take the first step and make things easier for you. I know you don’t want me here and I’ll leave by nightfall. We’ll both act like none of this ever happened.” I said.
“So you don’t find me appealing enough?” He scoffed, “Omegas and feeling like they’re something.” I swallowed hard, holding back the harsh response I had in mind. “I’m not one of those omegas, Aiden.” He was shocked and his hefty shoulder spun round to stare at me.
“Aiden? You little twit! I can crush your bones and feed your flesh to my night friends if you test my patience.” He groaned, clenching his fists as his brow furrowed in anger and the little beard on his jaw ticked with rage but I didn’t flinch. Why would I? I’d seen worse scenarios and had been through was situations.
Death? I had seen death countless times. Beginning from my past and i faced it head-on. Suffering I’ve tasted and I wasn’t scared to taste again. Power was what I yawned and I was ready to pay any price for it.
“Nightfall, consider me gone,” I said and turned to leave, my voice was barely above a whisper. But he stopped me, “You think I’m going to beg you to stay? You can get lost for all I care and you don’t have to inform me before you disappear.” He yelled and I heaved a deep sigh of relief.
I smiled on my way towards the door. I couldn’t be more pleased with taking the bold step of casting the first stone before he does. I was done receiving shits from people. “I beg to be excused now, My lycan,” I announced, placing my fingers on the doorknob.
“Wait.” His word sliced through the thin air. “Put yourself in my place, am I supposed to be happy that my mate was ready to offer herself to a man all because of money?” His eyes locked onto mine and he strode towards my face. I leaned to the ground, my jaw pointing his feet as strands of my hair fell and covered the side of my face. His face was too much for me to handle and I didn’t want to be placed in emotional turmoil anymore.
He held my chin up with the aid of his finger and I looked up at him, slightly taller than I was his eyes were blazing hot that which made Tilly weak, and my body slightly trembling at his touch. I swallowed hard, admiring his facial features and wishing to steal a kiss. That was the closest we had ever been since we met and it was beginning to stir up my emotions beyond my will. “That,” He growled. “Is an attitude of a whore.” He spat and flung my chin aside like I was something foul he’d accidentally touched and regretted.
I gulped it all, I wanted to cry but did not. I held it all back.
I only stood in silence and watched him treat me like the others without giving me a chance to defend myself. A knock on the door broke the silence and tension between us. I couldn't be more thankful that at least I could snivel and breathe.
“Did I say that you should come in?” He growled and I turned. It was char. “Come here,” Aiden ordered her and she obeyed, walking briskly towards where he stood, her body trembling with fear.
“Knell!” He ordered and she did as he instructed. His expression fierce and cold, He grabbed her chin slowly and tossed it to the other side forcefully causing the bones in her neck to crack.
I ran towards where she knelt, “Please,” I opened my mouth to speak but before I could finish he tossed a big slap at her cheek and before I could do anything further all I saw was her tooth on the floor and her mouth gushing blood.
I couldn't watch the torture, it was all too much for me to bear so I spoke up.” Why would you hurt her like Th..” He turned to me and held my neck forcefully, restricting my words and choking me. I struggled to breathe as my eyes bulged out for survival. His grip on my neck was so firm that my defense mechanism was not harm him to release me.
I looked into his eyes, my body trembling, my feet above the ground, stuck in mid air and Tilly roared inside me..
