ISOBEL I was still thinking about Mason and how he looked at me calmly. My mind was a mess and I wasn’t paying attention when I took a turn in the hallway too quickly and I nearly crashed into her. “Whoa.” Quinn stepped back just in time, stopping me from hitting her and she stared at me with her sharp eyes. She didn’t look surprised to see me, if anything, she looked amused, like she found something funny. “Are you okay there?” she asked and tilted her head to the side like she wanted to get something out of me. I swallowed hard as I looked at her. My heart was still racing from everything that had happened, but I forced myself to remain calm because I couldn’t risk Quinn finding out anything. “I’m fine.” I lied, even though I was far from fine.
