CHAPTER 81 ISOBEL The cool air brushed against my skin as I walked beside Mason. It was only supposed to be just a little stroll, to look around and receive fresh air, but we had come so far that the light from the pack was now very distant and it had almost faded behind us. The silence between us was comfortable as we walked further and neither of us bothered to speak as there was no need to break the comfortable silence with words. For once, I wasn’t thinking and worrying about the past. I wasn’t fighting my emotions, and I wasn’t also reminding myself why this thing between Mason and I was a mistake, and could never work out.
