CHAPTER EIGHTY THREE ISOBEL I tightened my grip on the rag in my hand as I moved through the house. I had barely slept, because my mind had been a huge mess. My mind was filled with thoughts of Mason’s kiss, the fear of being caught, and the way my heart betrayed me every time he touched me. I needed a distraction, something to keep my mind occupied, and cleaning was like the perfect solution. The kitchen was empty when I got there, which was exactly what I needed. I rolled up my sleeves and got to work. I wiped down the counters, scrubbed away invisible stains, and focused only on cleaning on. The silence was comforted me and made me feel at peace.
