I saw the line of cars on both sides of the road before I spotted the yard sale sign, right next to the for-sale sign with a sold stamp over top of it. Megan had to park her hatchback four houses down. When a truck left, another one took its place. “You see Nora’s van?” Megan asked as she leaned over the steering wheel. I scanned the parked vehicles. “I think we beat Grandma.” A loud car zoomed by for a second time, searching for a closer spot. People walked either to or from their vehicles.
