HER DEPARTURE. As it is said that the early bird catches the worm, Tina woke up very early in order to catch the first taxi. She barely had breakfast because she just had a few gulps of warm water and two slices of cassava. When she felt a little bit satisfied, she in just a blink went to her mother who have been waiting for her in the sitting room because she had to escort her daughter to the taxi stage. The atmosphere was clear, the sun had just risen warming up the cold morning making the dew to dry and flowers to bloom. All that made Tina's moment to be perfect; reaching in the sitting room, she found her mum ready, without wasting time she held her bag and out they went. They walked swiftly and in just a few minutes, they had reached at the taxi stage where they found Mr. Mathias waiting for her to also bid her farewell and give her right directions. Tina was glad that she had her mum to see her off which made her eyes glisten with tears because she is going to miss her terribly. She stepped in to the taxi but felt a tug in her heart making her turn around, ran to her mother and wholeheartedly embraced her. Seeing that, her mum parted her in the back and promised her that she will be okay."peeeeeeeee" the taxi blare nagged her awake from a deep embrace and went back in to the taxi. As soon as she got a seat, the driver started the engine and off the taxi went. For some minutes, Tina felt lonely in the taxi and barely had interest in watching beautiful sceneries outside the taxi's window. With strangers around her how can she be comfortable? But after some time, she felt morning breeze blushing her face that caught her attention and looked where it came from; it was a window. There she stared at different features like people, animals, birds, vehicles, trees and.....she fell asleep. Her eyes opened and she looked around to recognize where she was but alas she can't know because all around it was dark. Fright enveloped her making her body to tremble unconsciously and; "peeeeeeeee. " Is what nagged Tina awake and saw her self still seated in a taxi but with new surroundings. Yeah now they were in new beautiful town with a roundabout, tall buildings and she spotted one named Kiwa general hardware, a market alongside the highway. Here, the taxi stopped at a petrol station named gaz and a number of people flopped out of the taxi. She looked confused and wondered if this town was the so called Kampala. So she stood up to follow the queue but before reaching the exit, the conductor noticed her confusion and told her that this was not her destination as Mr. Mathias had explained to him. 'Wow Mr. Mathias is really something.' Tina wondered and slowly stepped back and sank in her seat silently. Again the taxi engine roared when it was full and off it went.
