CHAPTER 10

That night I had a dream that turned from a splendid fairy tale into a terrible nightmare. It was Bryan and I, on a boat and a smile widened on my face as I read the boat's name, ARI, in clear black characters. The immense blue ocean stretched before us again, calm enough to rock my new, white motorboat. I breathed deeply into the brackish air that ruffled my hair. With surprise, I noticed for the first time that the air was not cold, but incredibly and pleasantly warm, while I observed the solar disk in the clear sky that gave the crystalline waves of golden trails, reflecting in a thousand flashes of fire even on my skin . I was wearing a long white wedding dress, covered with white lace and roses. The dress was tight at the hips and fell soft. The gentle breeze made him float. Bryan was in front of me, dressed in a tuxedo and smiling at me. A ray of sunshine dazzled the wedding rings on our ring finger. Then, suddenly, the sky darkened, turning black as if a storm was announced. A flock of seagulls rose into the sky, as if frightened by something. Anxiety began to take me when the sea also swelled raising high waves like the ones I had seen before being shipwrecked. The boat began to be shaken by the current, with the risk of tipping over and I clung to tears, continuing to call him. Dozens of demonic sirens, with white eyes and sharp teeth like piranhas, came out with their heads. Bryan stood up, walking like a zombie and jumped into the water. It was then that I woke up with a start, with my heart pounding. I turned on the lampshade to my right, which with its dim light colored the whole room of caramel color. I sighed and plunged back with my head on the pillow, putting my hand to my mouth. So instinctively I took the round alarm clock to watch the time. It was five thirty in the morning. I remembered going to bed late, despite Bryan insisting that I rest, but I wanted to spend a normal evening with him, asking him all he had done until he decided to leave for Scotland. I had also asked him to describe me London, a city that I would have liked to see and he had told me how stimulating it was for young people, but also frenetic. Her words indicated her as a city that ran and who lived there ran with her. I took the covers off my legs and suddenly the doorbell rang. Who could it be at that hour? I put on my fuchsia cape and rushed down the stairs. "Ari, who’s that?" Bryan asked with a furred tongue.  "I don’t know". The rest of the family was already on the stairs. Fearfully I opened the door. A female silhouette appeared before us. She came closer, letting herself be illuminated by the light. Her golden-brown eyes and exaggerated beauty were familiar. Her honey-colored hair fell straight and very long on her shoulders, up to her arms. "Ari!" He called me in his melodious voice. "Ari, I'm Trilly, Orixa and Nijai's daughter." My father rushed to the door. "Trilly, come in!" The girl entered, waving her floral dress. When his gaze crossed with Bryan's, he stopped. She noticed the presence of a simple human, who was unmistakable for us. "He's a friend, Trilly, don't worry." My mother reassured her. "Come, take a seat." We were all very amazed to see not only a creature of our species, but who had followed our own way of life. "That's incredible," said Dad. "We thought we could no longer find anyone who had chosen to live this way." "As there were still no massacres form our part, we were given the same opportunity shortly after you, but Ager felt it was better not to be in the same country, or it would have been easier for us to find out." As she spoke, she kept a close eye on Bryan. I was sitting next to him and holding his hand. "And so we went to Norway." "You were younger than Ari  when our kingdom was marked by catastrophe." Mom remembered. "Where are Orixa and Nijai?" Dad asked. At that question the girl frowned. "They found some rebels some time ago and they died. That’s why I’m here. I need your help. My parents didn't tell me everything right away, since I didn't remember anything, but they couldn't keep my nature hidden for long; the sea attracted me in a strange way, which I did not understand and, in the end, I discovered everything. " Her shining eyes were a clear sign of his pain. "But what brought you here after all this time?" My father asked. “When my parents died I did some research to be able to track you down and talk about what's going on. " "I’m so sorry for your parents. All this situation has to do with demons, Trilly and they will be here tomorrow night and we cannot risk losing everything we have built, nor allow innocent people to pay." "Yagor, aren't you going to let Ager take care of it?" "Before he sent us to the mainland he had told us that he would not give us a second chance and if only we were discovered, this time he would make us disappear instantly." "And I'm with you." Trilly said.
