Bree
I must've fallen asleep or passed out, the last thing I remember was sitting by the door crying my eyes out.
Now I'm back in my cell, once again staring at the plain gray ceiling and feeling the cold damp air.
"Hey, Bree..." I heard Jamie's voice. "Are you okay? What happened? They drug you back in here and you were asleep, but also screaming and crying..." His voice was soft and his eyes drooping with dark circles. Was he okay? Had he been worried about me?
I stared numbly up at the ceiling as I whispered. "She left me here... Mom was here, but she left me... She thinks I'm insane... Only I don't know if she's wrong..."
"Oh... I'm sorry..." Jamie whispered and I felt his hand slip into mine.
I heard a crazy laughing from my other side, that crazy man again. "I told you, I told you so... I was right, they take everything!" More laughing.
Now though, I didn't blame him... Maybe he was right, maybe he wasn't that crazy after all. Maybe he was telling the truth and we were crazy for not believing him.

I spent most of the next days sleeping or staring at the ceiling. After Mom had left me here I just didn't feel the same... Now that I know how she feels and had my hopes crushed, life was hopeless and didn't even care anymore. That wasn’t even mentioning the way my head hurt, or how I had trouble grasping certain memories like life before this.
Jamie had tried to talk to me a few times, but I never responded. Chayton had talked to me too, promising to get me out next time he had the chance, but I didn't talk to him either.
I didn't know when, but I heard the door open and felt the vampire's presence. I kept my eyes shut, they wouldn't care if I was asleep or awake as long as I had blood.
The bars screeched up, and despite my lack of care, a wave of fear stood my hair on end.
When the vampire’s hands landed on my shoulders, pushing me against the wall, a burst of anger exploded inside me. I was done with this! I wasn't about to let them have me, scared and cowering in a corner as the tattered remnants of my life crumbled around me! I wouldn’t give them the satisfaction any longer.
I kicked out and flung the vampire off, my eyes snapping open as I shot to my feet.
The vampire lunged at me, an enraged look twisting his face into an ugly sneer. I swung my fist and it connected with the vampire's face. There was a quiet snapping noise, and when he got up and turned to me again a black liquid was running down his face. One of his fangs had snapped off and was lying in his palm.
I thought he would attack me again, but he just stood up and walked out of my cell. He must have been in shock, as I was. Had I just knocked a vampire's tooth out? Yes, I had.
I slumped down to the floor, now noticing that my head was throbbing painfully. I didn't look up, knowing that if I did all I would see is other people getting fed off of. I sure didn't need or want to see that.
Hearing it was bad enough… Tearing, sucking, gasping breaths, screams…

I was woken up again by my cell being opened. A guard and that horrible man came in, carrying chains.
I stood up quickly and glared. "What are you doing?" I growled.
"You're obviously a danger to everyone now... We have to keep you from hurting anyone else." The guard said.
I took a step towards them, no way was I getting chained up! This was not going to happen!
Except I was wrong, as I usually was. I felt a poke in my shoulder and looked down. A dart. I pulled it out, but it was too late. Dizziness washed through me, blocking my vision and control over myself, and I collapsed to the floor.
