Thomas Cochran was a watch salesman briefly in Wheeling, West Virginia, after the Vietnam War in 1974 at Branaugh’s Jewelry & Watch Co. on Main Street in the W.M. Marsh Wheeling d**g Company Building, originally built in 1915 as the National Bank of West Virginia, a 10-story “eclectic style skyscraper,” the tallest building in town, at 145 feet, made of reinforced concrete with a painted terra cotta façade, designed by Charles W. Bates. He never served in the military, there were a lot of young men his age eligible who did not, although Thomas did not dodge the draft.
